Holy cow 100% very very happy, I'm not surprised at all :) Had i voted the week after just having it I'm not sure I'd have been able to say very very. Get that first week out of the way and it's AMAZING!!!!! I'm 12 days out and 20 lbs down YAY!!!!

Still confused as to whether or not I'm happy and it's been since Feb 2009! If it hadn't been for an injury from a fall and having those issues to deal with afterwards and to date... I would jump at saying... HECK YEAH!! But, it has taken a toll on me emotionally and I just don't seem to be able to bounce back from it yet. So I'm going to say... In the Middle...

Sorry to hear that you have had a rough time since your surgery. I hope that you can get to a place where you are happy with your choice

4 years out and not sure anymore. It has made me more healthy, but I am disgusted looking in the mirror. Before I was very much invovled with BBW activities, and I think that was really part of my identity. The sagging skin, the looking gaunt, I would say I am 50/50 on it.

Missk64 you look great to me at least, when did you last update your weight since you do not hardly look like you aer 241 pounds. Extra skin can be dealt with and sometimes it is deemed medically necesssary so insurance pays for it. I worry about that too but feel I will cross that bridge when I come to it! You are a very attractive woman, stand up and shout!

I am a month post opp now and I am not happy with my decision. I am praying that will change with time. I just want to eat!

mmcCarthy you have lost weight, are you hungry or just missing foods like chips and ice cream and cheesecake etc.? From what i read, it does get better. My friend who did it said she is so glad she did it and others I have personally spoken with are all glad to have done it but they are a year or more out from the surgery. I know I will miss chips, ice cream and gummy bears. Most other food we can eat is what I like except will miss a good piece of bread!

Sandie I am happy to say I am able to eat whole wheat bread as long as I toast it first. If your dr has said stay away from bread then follow those orders. I had my surgery in sept 2012. it does get better as time goes by.

I'm really happy with my surgery. I do have a few little issues that I will always have to deal with though. I can eat a lot of different foods. However, I am still unable to drink milk, or eat yogurt or things like that. I also can eat wheat bread, white bread is a no no, but sometimes I eat a slice if I toast it first.

This surgery is already making a positive affect on my health , my diabetes has improved greatly . I thought i would have a problem with not eating the the food i loved before , but im almost 1 month out and i've had no problem with that . My health is way more important then some foods that werent good for me in the first place . I was on multiple diabetic meds , now im on nova log 1/2 the units i was before and my glucose in in the range 76-140 , before when i was on 2 insulins and 1000mg of metformin 2x a day my glucose was in the 300-400 range . My pcp is very happy with my choice to have the surgery . . Much love renie

I think everyone is doing a great job. I pump up to have my surgery. I did very well. Until I developed a heart problem where my heart was dropping to 7 to 10 beats a minute. And it took the Dr's years to figure out what was wrong with me I had no energy. I was going to bed to the couch and so on. Then they found out I needed a Pacemaker. So all that time I was waiting I was gaining weight. I got 20 more lbs to get it off again. But long story short. I would do this over again in a heart beat.it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

wow sorry you had such a hard time with your heart , but im glad the doctor found out what it was and corrected it .
much love Renie

I am gettting more sure I did the right thing, I had a hard time getting in the Protein and Fluids, but seem to be doing better. I have not lost any weight for about a week so not sure what that is about since in total if I am eating 400 calories a day. I have a friend who had it done last year and she must have lost about 70 or so pounds and is VERY happy with the results!

my weight loss was slow at first too...my doctor said get more protein , he says protein aids in more weight loss . soo i upped my prtein and started exerrcising a little and i hope it works , one thing i can say i do see a difference when i wrap a messering tape around my waist , hips, arms, and thighs . i try not to obsess with the scale b/c i know eating the way we do the weight will deff come off . i exercise and read to keep my mind busy and off the thought of the scale . i hope this help .. stay confident that you did the right thing .
much love
Renie
