I hated riding exercise bikes in a gym

Now I went to get a treadmill & ended up with a Bike. It does so many things. I am addicted to it. Since I ride a bike in proper weather should be ready to go by then. I really miss it when I don't get to work out on it. Winter in Ohio snow snow and more snow on the way. So I peddle inside. Have a good one. What do you do for exercise?

I have an indoor exercycle-can pedal in any weather. :)

Right now I have to take it easy as I just had my surgery so I soft pedal. I do 15 minutes twice a day. Too cold to get outside and walk right now. Hubby takes me to walmart to walk around. I have my Fitbit Zip to keep track of my steps and then it downloads into the computer.

I was fortunate to get into the going-to-the-gym habit about 5 years ago after I had both of my knees replaced. I was so thrilled to be able to walk and shop and work in the garden without pain that I wanted to make sure my legs and hips stayed strong. I also added cardio and upper body workouts to my routine.
I also analyzed my past failures at regular exercise. The first thing to make me stop was bad weather, so the gym is perfect. 68 degrees year round and no rain or snow inside.
The second thing was boredom. Well, there are so many things to do at the gym it's pretty hard to get bored. You can even walk around the track a few times to get a mile or two in.
The only piece of exercise equipment I owned that I really liked was a ski machine (not sure if it's really called that, but you move your arms and legs without picking them up.) I had to quit that when my right side started really hurting. I blamed the machine, but it was really my right knee that had gone bone-on-bone that was causing the problem. Wish I had not got rid of the thing!

I hate the bike because my butt falls asleep and hurts quick.

I love going to the gym when I have time but with work school and an 8 month old its hard to find that time. Now I have been strapping him in the stroller and going for a walk

ck9779, anyway you can get the exercise in is good. Plus the fresh air will be good for him. Keep working at it, you'll start finding the time.

I like to walk. Winter gets cold, but I dress up and walk the dogs. They love to go for a walk. Now that I am down to 238, a lot of stuff is easier to do; like bending over and tying my shoes! Or how about walking up a hill or stairs without getting winded.

Ralph, I know what you mean. I just got back from a 5 mile run and in that run I went up a hill that I used to have to take a break three or four times before reaching the top. I did it without stopping, it is a great feeling. You're doing very well, keep it up.

Thanks Frank.

I hope you are doing well.

We are all on the road to success.

Keep up the good work.

my latest is spinning. I purchased a spinning bike and cross county tour workout tape which are awesome. When not in the mood for that and can't get outside I walk the buildings where I work, up and down stairs and through the halls. Any workout is great now that I don't get winded in less than two minutes.
