I am 3 weeks post sleeve gastric surgery. I started my journey last November when diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea. At that time I weighed 296. Cut sugars and most all foods that I enjoyed and 7 months later went into surgery weighing 277. I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow and am 18 pounds down since surgery. First 2 weeks were really tough with the liquids only but got cleared from doc today to start introducing more foods. That makes me happy!! I am one of the lucky ones as I had only one or 2 days of nausea and hardly any discomfort from surgery. I have tons more energy and am starting to feel like my old self again. My one hurdle is finding drinks other than water that are not "diet" tasting. I have never been one to drink diet drinks and struggle with the after taste. Does anyone have suggestions for a tastier drink? So I am 2 weeks PO and down 18 pounds. Does this seem to be approximately the average out there? (Just curious).

First off. Congrats on your 18#. That is great. My surgery was back on Dec 6 and I forget how fast I lost it in the beginning. I know it was quick. It has slowed down for me as time has gone on, but I have not been eating as well as I did in the beginning either. I am down 106.4# right now. As for drinks, that has been a struggle for me as I do not like sweeteners. I drink water, unsweetened tea, lemon and lime water. Good luck getting your fluids in.
