The dreaded word from our pre surgery days. Do ya'll journal? If you do, how many calories do you give yourself? My doctor recommends it, but I'm at a loss as to how to do it now on the post op side of life.
My doctor seems more concerned with protein and carbs, thinking back to my "diet bible" I was given when I first started this process. Max of 60 carbs per day with min of 64 protein per day. I need to work on both I believe. I think I will worry less about calories. Thanks for your input Tracy.I don't really count calories, I just try and eat protein, at every meal, and if I need a snack I have more protein, easier said than done, but the more busy I stay the better I am, today I had a fruit smoothie with yogurt and an egg white with a little ham and cheese, lunch I had a beef jerky and some light baby bell cheese, when I got home from work, that is when the muchies kick in, so I had half of a protein bar, I do keep track on my phone, but I'm more concerned with the amount of protein I get
I found an IPhone app that tracks the carbs and proteins and makes it easy to see the total. My old app tracked them, but concentrated mainly on the calories and you have to dig through the journal to find the carbs and protein. If it's too hard to find them, I won't journal. Now I don't have an excuse.I don't really count calories, I just try and eat protein, at every meal, and if I need a snack I have more protein, easier said than done, but the more busy I stay the better I am, today I had a fruit smoothie with yogurt and an egg white with a little ham and cheese, lunch I had a beef jerky and some light baby bell cheese, when I got home from work, that is when the muchies kick in, so I had half of a protein bar, I do keep track on my phone, but I'm more concerned with the amount of protein I get

I think the migraines might be from preservatives. I need to go back to no preservative eating, easier said than done, and see if that helps. I get plenty of water, at least 80 oz a day, so I don't think hydration is an issue. I will be posting in our exercise tracker. Thanks for starting it. Hopefully others will join us.I bet it will help, when did the headaches start, it could be because of what you are eating, I have also heard if you are dehydrated that you can get headaches how much water are you drinking in a day, I started the post for our exercise tracker, I hope to see your name up there tomorrow
