5yrs post op. Im gaining weight. Im always craving sweets especially at night. I walk sometimes jog but my weight doesn't drop it just slowly goes up. My weight lost Dr. put me on these appetite control pills and they made me feel crazy so I stop taking them. Is there anyone who shares something similar to this? I need some suggestions and support.

I am gaining weight

I'm 3 years post op from a sleeve gastrectomy and I too have been gaining weight. I can't seem to fend off my cravings for pop and candy and I am a carb fanatic. I fear with the holidays I am only going to gain more weight. I have always had an addiction to food. I am a grazer. I was very diligent with my diet pre/post surgically, however I haven't been able to keep up with exercising and eating proper and I don't know how to get myself back on track. Obviously I am not the only one with this issue but the question is ho do we break the bad cycle? We all obviously did it once or even more so why is it so hard now?

I am also 5 years post op from having a roux n y and I have trouble with grazing and have cravings for cookies cake candy and sweet stuff but when I eat it I get sick to my stomach and I get dumping syndrome. The cravings are worse at night. I try to get back on track and I do good for a week or two then I fall off again. My weight has stayed steady for the last year but I haven't lost anymore. I too would like to know what to do????? I think if we had a good group to meet where we live would help greatly.

Start over :) Reset your belly. Go back and do a week of the liquid diet, concentrating on your protein intake, your vitamins and calcium. Move on to semi soft foods, keeping your goals in mind. When you get back to solid foods, make the healthy choices. There are a ton of alternative recipes out there to help with sugar cravings, head hunger, and grazing. Once you've put the work in, it may help you to stop. Get back to your exercising. Change your perception on sweets, indulge only when it is time to celebrate or for very special holidays. Keep true to those special times and you'll treasure them more. You can do this, you just need to kick start yourself back into the healthier side of things! There is nothing wrong with starting back at square one, so go for it. We think if you could do it once, you can do it again! So go for it!

I thought I was the only one that craved sweets. I have lost 100 pounds but still need to lose 40 more. I feel sick at least once a day.
