i just threw up for the first time :( I think what I was attributing to post-op pain is my new insides telling me it's not ready to advance the diet. I told my Dr. everything was great and she ok'd the advance. I live in bush Alaska, I just got home yesterday. Now what???? This morning I had a scrambled egg and after a few hours it came back up. I am guessing I need to go back to the beginning diet wise. Anyone else experiencing or experienced this?

Also I am a little depressed about this.

Maybe the egg was bad? It happens out here.

I went through frothing nausea and dry heaving at the same time. I was 1 month out. I kept having to spit cause my stomach was creating mucus for one reason or other. So...I went back to liquids for two days. If you ate it too fast or didn't chew well, your stomach curse you out. They egg may have been fine. You might have had to try something softer at first or your desire for eggs has vanished. I hope not, I love eggs. Please be well. Depression will wear you out and you may not want to exercise.

Thank you so much for sharing. I threw up again after posting. I DID retreat to chicken broth and jello and those have stayed down and my pain is greatly reduced this evening. So I will take your advice and chew more thoroughly. Maybe because I thought the eggs were soft they didn't need to be chewed so well. But chomp , chomp, chomp I will chew better.

So terrible is the land of nausea! I have been living in it since June  I can tell you that I am very restricted in my diet still, and so many foods cause sickness. :( But, on the bright side, it doesn't last forever. It really is just a body adjustment thing, and kind of how ticked off your tummy still is at you for allowing someone to hack away at it when it was perfectly happy the way it was. :p Anyway, as you make your advance, which is really at the same time I'm making mine finally ;) I have found that adding a little extra coating of something to the more solid foods has been super helpful. Like, I add extra green sauce and sort of smother the grilled chicken or I add guacamole to chicken to help. I've gotten into the habit of slicing and dicing everything to bite size to force myself to eat small bites and to chew ...forever on them. Also, I still can't eat eggs, hamburger meat, tuna, pork, or sausage and I'm close to 4 months out. My surgeon has said it is perfectly normal at this stage, just to wait a few weeks and try again. It seems like relearning how to eat and getting on the same page with my new tummy is an uphill battle but it will be worth it long term! :) I hope things improve for you soon!

Hang in there. It will get better. Make sure you chew chew chew. I had nausea and vomited up frothy spit for two months after surgery. Never have been able to actually vomit up food. Just experience terrible pain. It’s 10 months out and I still experience nausea and pain occasionally, but no more vomiting. You may find you can no longer eat certain things. Good luck. :)

Thanks for sharing with me. I am still sticking to jello and broth today. The pain of trying to eat something that my tummy just doesn't want, just is not worth it.

I really needed to hear what you said. Thanks. :)
