5 days post op from sleeve. Pre surgery weight was 225, when I left hospital I was 237, now 234. Is this normal. Also it feels like every pain I have ever had has also come alive after surgery, (back, knee as well as post surgery) I have not been able to sleep. When will some of this get better. Did anyone else have these issues?

I would advise making a phone call to your surgeon, letting them know of your issues and concerns. They should be able to explain or have you come in to get things checked out. Congrats on the surgery and your new journey, I hope your able to find a positive solution to the issues your facing.

When you are in the hospital, they pump you full of fluids in your IV to keep you from being dehydrated. It is very common for you to unfortunately leave the hospital weighing more because of these fluids. It can take a couple of weeks for them to get out of your system, but then you’ll start seeing the benefits of your new body. Hang in there!

It is water retention when I came out of surgery on fourth day I gained 18 pounds I was freaked out, but I had to take lasix in ER then other water pill for a month due to high blood pressure. So it will resolve because they pump you full of IV fliuds.

I just had bariatric surgery to correct an obstruction from a non adjustable lap band. Did you have the surgery done laproscopically? If so the pain should ease a bit now that you are five days out of surgery. It took a while for my body to heal and I find that I still get very tired during the day. My surgery was done on Sept. 27. Also your body needs time to adjust to the changes that have been made to it. Please drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. It will get better! IF not its time to ask the doctor for a quick exam to check for complicatitons.
