Looking for friends i am new. Started my journey 2017 of may

Hi, my name is Sherry. I had my gastric bypass surgery on June 12, 2017. So far I have lost almost 100lbs. I have seven more pounds to lose, to be down 100. The other day I was weighing and the scale said I gained 5 pounds over night. I was like 'No Way'! Then I felt something on the back of my leg and my cat had his paws on the scales. LOL! Bad Kitty! If you need someone to talk to give me a shout out.
hi sherry my name is Pam I'm new need friends and support, and that's funny about the cat it sounds like something my cat would do,lol,,so I'm having the sleeve done but I have to lose 17 pounds before I do and that's due to insurance I just am having hard time wish I could hurry n lose it its hard,I have a lot of health issues so can't exercise much,if you have any advice I'm listening, and sure could use a friend, and great on you losing that's awesome.

Hi. I'm Carolyn. I had my surgery on the 21st of August and lost 37lbs. I think it's a good start. I don't want to move too fast cause I hear if you exercise and lose at a certain pace you won't have loose skin. I'm trying to find that pace. I think you are doing well! Please don't be discouraged. Try to stick to the plan and it'll come off. They say you'll lose a certain percentage a year....
sounds good I'm new and I'm having hard time losing 17 pounds but I'm gonna have sleeve so if you have any advice please feel free to let me no hun and great job..

Hi Mary, Don't get discouraged. Everybody looses differently. A lot of it has to do with how much your weight was before. The heavier you are, it seems like you lose faster. I had the gastric bypass surgery instead of the sleeve. You lose more and faster with the bypass. That's what my dr.told me. Make sure you have your protein first and then vegetable. I have 3 ounces of protein and 1 ounce of veggie. Make sure you follow your doctor's diet. Talk to the dietitian and get her advice. I had to write down everything I ate and drank and took it back to my follow up appointment with the dietitian. We went over it to see where I needed to improve or was ok. Make sure you drink your 64 ounces of water daily. I know it's hard, but necessary. Protein shakes are good. Hope this helps you. Remember everyone is different. Hang in there and soon the pounds will start melting away. Happy Losing!
hi sherry I'm Pam I'm new so I hope I'm doing this right,I'm suppose to get the sleeve but they want me to lose 17 pounds first, and I'm having a hard time, and so you say the bypass is better you lose faster with that,I wonder why they chose the sleeve for me?

Hi my name is Pam my start weight was 232 I started August I'm at 226 I'm suppose to losec17 more pounds before surgery,I'm trying so hard I'm doing the protein shakes twice daily to replace 2 meals and eating dinner which ain't much some salad, or cottage cheese low fat and low fat deli slice turkey,or just baked chicken,so I don't no why I am having hard time all I drink is water.any suggestions I'm open.
I don't understand why the doctor chose the sleeve for me either,,I no I'm having issues with the 17 pounds and I'm getting agravated

I'm having hard time to need to lose 17 more pounds before they do surgery cause of insurance,I'm not dealing with it well.
It feels like the pressure is on, huh? I know that my insurance requires me to have tried to lose the weight. Programs and diets. I don't think I like your insurance much but I can be here to support you as you drop those pounds. I feel based on all that you have accomplished you will succeed. Also when I did the protein diet before surgery I tortured myself with the lean cuisine or weight watchers meals in the freezer isle. Sometimes I couldnt take it and ate two. But that did help with the weight and getting in more protein. If I remember right they have 10g. Some 12 to 15 depending on the meal. They didn't taste like cardboard or nothing considering they are microwaved. Anyhow, please keep your head up. I think that they would just push back the date of surgery til they are satisfied (the stankin boogers)

My biggest problem is drinking water. I was only a coffee drinker all day every day. It is hard for me to think to drink water, especially when I'm at work.

Ya I use to hate water but I went thru treatment a year ago and had to learn to drink just water,so I had to give up tea it was so hard,,but I finally did it but I started with the new water, the lemon water n orange,,,its pretty good now I only drink water..you can do it hun, just takes a little time.

Okay. The price in my town for them is 1.25 to 2.00 a box. I hope it's affordable in your city. I have a hard time followin the plan because of the amount people on the grocery needs list. I feel good about meeting you as well. Surgery Day is gonna come and you'll probably be lIke "what am I doing?" But no worries that's normal. It's also normal to feel like everything is in the anesthesiologists hands, i did. But I realize I have the will to live. So keep up the good work and enjoy the you you're becoming.

Hi sherry my name is Mary. I had my gastric sleeve surgery August 24, 2017 I've only lost about 25lbs. I'm so discouraged what can I do?
Don't worry it will come off, just follow the Dr advice, we all stop and start, stop and start on our weight loss, it is normal it takes time, and don't compare your self to others, we are all different

I go to my nutrition Dr. Office once in a while and ask to use their scale, they never mind, well they never say no, I bet they are used to it

I have a scale at home and it's ten pounds lighter than the doctors office. I cannot fot the life ofw convince them that they are a little off lol. I try though. I like my scale even if it's lying to me. I think it's endearing. Lol. Anyhow a nurse once told me that the weights vary for scales especially on carpet versus tile.

I'm stuck, too. I need to lose a total of 26 lbs in 6 months to be considered for WLS. I lost 11 lbs right a way, but now I only lost 1 lb in the past 3 weeks. My next appointment is in 2 weeks and I have nothing to show for it. I'm also at the point where I'm hungry all the time so I haven't followed my diet as well. I think I need to look at what I'm eating to make it healthier. Maybe then I won't be so hungry and I'll start losing weight again?

It's good to take in as much protein as possible. Even if you gotta drink three yucky shakes a day. The carbs burn off too fast leaving you feeling like you never ate. But I was wondering if you are active at all. Even to walk around the dining table a few times. I think you maybe want to try to get a little more busy moving if this is at all possible. I say it like it's easy. No one wants to exercise while practically starving. I hope this mat be helpful and encouraging though.
