Looking for friends i am new. Started my journey 2017 of may

I'm not even getting 1200 calories in,I'm lacking a lot and 15 grams of sugar and only 32 carbs I don't get it something is wrong

Pre surgery I was on the south beach diet. It was very doable for me. I'm not one to count calories, in fact I despise it. That's why it worked. The book explains things in a easy to understand way. I lost weight very slowly, but I always lost it.

If you eat something every two hours it kicks your metabolism up. I don't mean eat full meals. Like in between meals eat a small handful of almonds, or a cheese stick. I love cottage cheese personally it's low in carbs and calories high in protein per serving.

I'm stuck, too. I need to lose a total of 26 lbs in 6 months to be considered for WLS. I lost 11 lbs right a way, but now I only lost 1 lb in the past 3 weeks. My next appointment is in 2 weeks and I have nothing to show for it. I'm also at the point where I'm hungry all the time so I haven't followed my diet as well. I think I need to look at what I'm eating to make it healthier. Maybe then I won't be so hungry and I'll start losing weight again?

Along with the protein increase as suggested by others, your water intake will also need to go up significantly, which is so hard for some reason. o_O I myself struggle with it daily, however, it works! 64 oz. a day minimum, 100 oz. or more if you can. You can include the ounces from protein shakes as part of that, but the more liquid in, the more fat that comes off. It is a struggle, but you can do it!

This is now how I eat after surgery lol! Maybe it can be called the new south beach bariatric diet...:p Anyway, how are you Lori? Hope things are getting easier as you heal?

Remember that you haven't actually had the surgery yet, so not getting in enough of everything will kick your body into 'starvation mode' and it will hold on to everything you put in your mouth and try to store it as fat, exactly what you don't want...:( Try to replace some of the junk with protein shakes or bars, keep up with water, even flavored or vitamin water is better than too many sugars in sweet tea or creamed up coffee. However, there is protein tea and protein coffee now so that might be an option? I agree with Lori, small meals throughout the day, not full meals but small, healthy, protein packed meals or even just the shakes and you'll start to lose the weight. You can do this!

It's amazing how much good advice all of you provided to me. And the best part is that I know you all have been in the same spot as me so I know what you are saying will work. So, it's time for me to stop feeling sorry for myself and follow the good advice here! I'll let you know how it works for me. :)

I am doing so much better! Thank you Pixx! It was rough for a bit, but I made it through. I'm able to enjoy more foods and I'm figuring out what works best for me. I still get full very fast and I'm definitely not looking forward to the day when that feeling goes away. Lol.

Woot woot!!!
Well, I stopped sulking and started walking more and eating healthier. I'm not sure if I believe my scale yet because it varies so much, but the numbers are definitely starting to go down again! At this point in my adventure, I need to diligently record everything that I eat. And it's so easy to do that now with all the great apps available. Anyone remember the days of paperback calorie counters?!? :)

Hi hojo I use my fitness pal its great one and underarmor that comes with it that tracks your steps,of course I have to carry phone with me,but that's fine,so it tracks everyday what you eat n drink and your exercise, and steps.its awesome,I like it.just a suggestion.

Good morning my name is Sheila I started my weight loss surgery journey in May 2017 started at 315 now down to275looking for friends to help me down my road to a healthier lifestyle and a small me
Hi I'm just starting the group for support. My surgery date was 11/20/2014. I'm here to give you hope. I am doing fine and have no regrets. My weight is steady going down. I made it to my goal but seem to have 10lbs that likes to creep up every so often. Goal is 160 hover around 171. A liquid fast usually does the trick.

I will just seem to have stalled out .I am trying to get restarted writing down menues reducing intake see psych on a regular bases wanting to work in exercise just seem to be to busy with work ,and taking family and self to appointments
Exercise is important, next time you go grocery shopping park at the furthest parking stall, walk to the store, make a couple extra laps around the store and when you are done and you take your stuff back to the car, then walk your cart back to store, not to the cart stall, just one way of getting extra steps in good luck
