Hello all - preop and feeling nervous!

Thank you. Still waiting for it to improve.

I noticed after surgery, even still, the bruises I get from anything take a little longer to heal than before. I'm hoping this improves. I would say though, if you don't see improvement I'd call the doc and have it checked out. I hope it heals though!

Thanks. It's feeling and looking more normal now. I'm a week post DS and am a little discouraged and worried because I am actually feeling hungry. Really didn't think I would be for a few weeks as things healed.

Could be just head hunger, yes who knew it exists, we are so used to eating a plate full, or snacking, grazing and we look at what is on our plate, but just eat very slowly and stop when you feel good, not stuffed, it still takes a little time for our heads to catch up to our stomachs.

That kind of makes sense in a way? DS is kind of the step child of bypass and sleeve combined :p (yet the most effective and aggressive of WLS) I've read countless posts on here from sleeve patients who get hunger pains shortly after surgery, whereas it is uncommon to read of bypass patients who experience actual hunger within the first year after surgery. Anyway, I'm rambling...:D It might also be a mild form of dehydration, which sounds weird because it seems like all we do is drink liquids, but typically hunger pains are actually from lack of water. If possible add a bit more water to your day? (Which is soooo hard with the new little belly space :()

Great advice. I feel like I'm drowning in fluids, but admittedly I was doing better with getting them in up until a couple of days ago. I'll have to be better about tracking them, too. I have a few apps and haven't decided on one I believe I'll actually use.

Ugh, I agree! Figuring out which app is the best is so hard, there are pros and cons to each. If you find one that works let me know, I'll try it out. I'm currently using Baritastic but kind of thinking I might try myfitnesspal? just not sure of what else is out there or if they are any good to use daily.

Yeah, Baritastic was okay for me, but not great. I was hoping to stick with a freebie, but yesterday I went with "Lose It!" and it fits me best so far. I know me; if something isn't intuitive and doesn't feel right, I'm just not going to stick with it. This one tracks macros & water, imports exercise from a Fitbit, charts my weight loss, has a bunch of challenges I can participate in, etc. We'll see!

I also use lose it, works great and if I eat the same thing I can find it instead of typing it all in and I can also put my recipes in it and it will calculate the calories and protein for me. I love it
