    weightloss

2-4 lbs a week, or 8-16 a month translated is what to expect, according to the bariatric center I use. You have much less to lose than many having surgery so perhaps even thinking of it as percent to goal would help you feel positive.

Feeling Normal Again... But With One Issue

Compliments from someone who never bothered talking to me before still bother me. I'm the same person. If I hadn't lost weight, I assume they still wouldn't be talking to or complimenting me, so they don't need to now! Compliments from those actively involved in my life are good. My counselor...

Why is everyone losing weight faster then me?

2-4 lbs a week, or 8-16 a week is what my bariatric center taught us. You are down 8/9 lbs in 10 days. Think about how good you are going to feel at 3 mo, 6 mo...it is hard not to focus on the number. Heal first and then exercise a bunch. No cookies this Christmas for us!

Food suggestions - 3 weeks out - please!

I had the sleeve...refried beans would be a no no at 3 wks but not sure about bypass. Yogurt w/protein powder, some frozen berries and sugar free jello as a smoothie.

Something strange is happening to my body

I had the sleeve in April of this year. I had to get an entirely new winter wardrobe - include lots of sweaters as I'm generally very cold. I'll bundle up and don't miss my butt or hips. Not sure I'll ever be able to get the "girls" where they belong again.

    food progression fears

Being limited made it easier, for sure. I'm six months out and was shocked the other week when things were going haywire at work and I actually opened my old "goodies" drawer. It now has sugar free gum in it and hasn't had "goodies" forever. Showed me how quickly old habits and emotional...

    Where I'm @ Now

Seafood is the easiest for my to tolerate. Altho I have cottage cheese as a staple for protein, fish, shrimp or a lobster tail - all broiled or grilled - are so simple and easy to get down. Good protein and easy to fix after work.

New. How do I get protein in?

ISOPURE is what gets me to my protein goal. I buy it online at dietdirect.com. It's like koolaid, just not as sweet. After the 6 weeks of shakes only, prewls, I couldn't tolerate them anymore! Dietician recommended the isopure for many of us in the group. Many nutrician stores carry it in metros.

Is anyone else disabled in the group?

I know how frustrating it is, believe me! My legs have been paralyzed for 3 yrs. Doubt that WLS will make a difference but I can hope. I will be less of a burden for those who help me tho:)

Is anyone else disabled in the group?

I have no desire to eat or drink.

I use my cell phone alarm too because I have no feeling of hunger - typical w/the sleeve. My nutritionist told us that if we don't get our protein in the weight loss will slow down substantially as your body will go into starvation and hold on to your fat. I could not tolerate protein shakes...

    Worlds WORST with Patience!!!

I did private pay even tho I'm not rich. My insurance does not cover "period". My bariatric center still has at least 3-6 mo w/3 mo of a diet plan including liquid for at least 6 wks. Good discipline. Prepare and enjoy. My post op group is filled with patients complaining about missing their...

Family concerned and frankly so am I about how I feel.....................

I had the sleeve in April. Are you taking the post bariatric vitamins too? It seems strange to worry about eating enough when the whole reason we are going thru WLS is because of eating! I went thru a plateu for two weeks and cut my protein intake thinking I was eating too much. NOT! As soon as...
