Great advice Christine. It has been awhile since I have visited the forum. I am almost 4 years post op. I am doing pretty well. However, I have gained 20 pounds. I would like to get it off
Don't be discouraged Stacy. Stick to the program and you will lose weight. You spent a lifetime gaining...
starting today.
I am having 2 softboiled eggs in the morning, 4 shakes Premier shakes during the day and some small amount of veggies in the evening.
This will be my regimen for at least the next 5 days or more.
This is not quite a pure pouch test since I believe you must go all liquid for...
Enjoy the wedding and then plan the surgery. You have spent a lifetime to get to this point where you decided to do the surgery. Another 2 months will not matter.
Enjoy the wedding.
Also, most surgeries go well and you are home the day after. But, you don't want to chance having a complication...
Dumping is real. I can still manage to do things wrong on ocassion and find myself in a dump situation. I know how to avoid most of them now.
Know the warning signs and stop eating when you sense it. Don't keep going on.
For example, I can consume one slice of pizza now. But I need to have a...
Speaking of the 5 day pouch test, I will be planning to do this as well. I need to get an extra 15 pounds off that have accumulated in the 3 years since my gastric bypass. I am feeling good, looking forward to summer and this is a golden opportunity for me to get back down to 200.
Best wishes...
I don't know how you try to get out of bed.
Perhaps if you roll gently and lower your legs to the floor then get up might be easier than trying to sit up directly.
Rolling out of bed is recommended for many folks having back pain and/or arthritis issues.

Best wishes,
Ralph
Post op the first few weeks is definitely a time to be kind to yourself and not strain or exercise too much. You are healing from major surgery!
Best wishes,
Ralph
Folks, the surgeon intentionally loads you up with fluids to counter any possibility of dehydration in the initial weeks post op. Normal procedure. It will come off.
I have read in many places is the best sleep position for a myriad of reasons is on your back.
I tend to sleep on my side and on my back and I will alternate when I awaken during the night.
I have also read that sleeping on your stomach is not so good. I forget why. But, you can do some...
With all due respect to the PA at your weight loss center, the gastric bypass is the gold standard to this date. The sleeve is gaining more information and that is good.
As to all the malnutrition concerns, after gastric bypass surgery you are then prescribed supplements that you must take for...
You will find that your tastes do change.
To this day, I cannot have bacon. Even a small bite will make my stomach queasy.
Pizza is too rich. I can get away with having one slice but it better not be an oily/greasy slice. I would get sick.
Two pieces will make me sick.
Eating vegetables is...
It took me a period of 5 years to finally make the decision to have my gastric bypass. I kept getting heavier and the medical complications were getting worse. So I went for it and I haven't regretted the decision ever.
A new lease on life.
Make sure when you do decide to research this...
