You know you have lost a lot of weight when...

Just you wait! It's one of those moments. Just got back from Disney. Last year I literally squeezed into the Sci-Fi diner's booth to the point that I was in pain. This year, ROOM!!!! It's wonderful. Best of luck!

You know you have lost a lot of weight when...

I teach and another teacher recently came running up to me and said, "I swear this true! I saw you from behind and thought, 'who the hell is that sub???' but it was YOU! You're half your size!" :) Loved it.

    Celebrating 100 today!!!!!!!!!

Sandie, That's fine! More than fine. You and I were at drastically different start weights. I am surprised that the weight is slower than I thought coming off (I've lost about 40ish since the surgery), but slow and steady wins the race, as cliche as it sounds. I've also heard the slower you drop...

    Celebrating 100 today!!!!!!!!!

Hi Donna, I have a VERY strict doctor. He usually makes all his patients drop 20 lbs. prior to surgery, but I had to drop 40 because I had gained 20 from our first appointment (when I busy doing my goodbye-to-junkfood-tour!). Ten weeks was a terribly long time, but I was allowed 300 calories a...

    Celebrating 100 today!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies, I should have explained this. My doctor had me on the protein pre-surgery diet for TEN weeks! In those 10 weeks, I lost 61 lbs. The two months is only the 39 lbs. from the surgery. :) Still, 100 lbs. gone for me! I'd be worried if I lost 100 in the two months :) Slow and steady...

    Steroids/Prednisone ok?

OK, for a week my scale hasn't moved except slightly up. After much frustration, I thought - what have I done differently? I realized that I'm on strong steroids for a terrible ear infection. My ENT said they were fine to take after gastric, but does anyone have any input? Does anyone know if...

    Is this normal?

I, too, am full of questions and frustration. For the past five days, I've had the most protein and fluids to date since the surgery and am UP a pound. HOW ON EARTH IS THIS HAPPENING? I don't want to be discouraged, but I lost 61 lbs. on my own (quickly) before surgery and feel like the past...

    Reformed Fatty

fkrebs, YES! I've had that same thought, like did they really do a surgery (though I have had other struggles which prove they did). Knock on wood, I've never had that helpless I-took-one-too-many-bites full feeling either. AND I do feel hungry at times whereas most people say we won't feel...

Food suggestions - 3 weeks out - please!

Sandie, I feel your pain - literally. I struggle every day with protein, but even more so with fluids! It hurts me to drink. I actually do a little bit better with the eating than drinking. I can't wait to move out of this phase too!

Food suggestions - 3 weeks out - please!

Thank you, Pat. SUPER helpful, especially knowing that maybe in a couple of weeks I won't be so angry at food! Yes, I literally don't even want to be in a room with it, much less eat it! Merry Christmas! :D

Food suggestions - 3 weeks out - please!

Yes, Carol. Stage 1 diet is the pits! My biggest problem is I literally want NOTHING. No food is appealing to me and, in fact, the idea of most really makes me nauseous. Weird feeling, but yes, Karenina, at least I'm out of the food-rules-my-every-second phase of life! That is a good thing!
