    Going on a Cruise

Cruise went great...only threw up once. Too much liquid and solid at the same time. I hit the gym 4 times and I came home down 5 pounds. I drank some wine and beer, and didn't have any bad reactions. Food was easy because of the variety of liquid/soft/semi-soft/solid items. I usually...

    Moving on to regular food....

My advice to you is to try one thing at a time and see how you react. I'm 4 months out (RNY) and I personally don't dump with any type of food. Just be careful about how much you eat at one time. I'm still learning the quantity thing. If I eat too much, especially carbs, I'm off to the...

    Pre-surgery liquid diet

Did your doc prescribe anything for post surgery. Mine prescribed liquid tylenol with codine.

    Going on a Cruise

Thanks for the reply, I had thought about bringing a jug of powder and my magic bullet as a backup plan. Good tip.

    Contacts for insurance approval

Had my surgery done 2 weeks ago. I was declined by insurance 3 years ago, applied again this year and was approved. This time I wrote a letter to the insurance company and included photos of myself. Not sure if that did the trick, but here I am 2 weeks out. I feel great. No complications...

    Going on a Cruise

Hi All, I'm 2 weeks out of surgery (RNY) and thankfully doing great. No complications and down almost 30lbs. My situation: I'm booked for a 5 day family cruise in 2 months (Oct 28). I should be on the solid food stage by then and will have my family support system with me to control any...

    Discouraged

I'm only 12 days out and down a quick 30lbs. My understanding is the surgery is a tool or kick start to get your weight loss going in the right direction (south). For continued weight loss, I believe exercise will be the key for me after I drop the initial 70-80 lbs. A good mix or cardio...

    puree diet is getting old!

Try a some fat free ricotta with a teaspoon of low carb/sugar pasta sauce and a sprinkle of garlic salt. Nuke it for about 30 seconds. It'll give you your Italian food fix.

2 wks out and no change yet

same here Had my surgery on the 16th...dropped a quick 25-30 lbs. Now I'm on the same number for the past 2 days. I'm not worried. Consuming 800 or less calories per day will eventually show on the scale. My whole life, I've had a history of losing in chunks...not sure of the scientific...

    Pre-surgery liquid diet

I had a hard time on the pre-surgery diet too. I ended up having 2 protein shakes, then a light dinner (chicken or fish with veggies, no carbs). Fast forward, I'm now 9 days out of surgery, and on full liquid diet. It's amazing how the hunger and craving pains have disappeared. I'm...
