Protein shakes

I started my liquid diet, expecting surgery on 12/9. Now surgery has been moved to possibly 12/30. Having done two days of the protein shakes using protein powder and almond milk, I HATE them. I am mildly lactose intolerant and really hate the taste of pretty much any kind of milk. I also noticed that trying to mix in a full scoop of protein powder to sugar free jello, which I am allowed to have is pretty nasty also.

Could anyone give me some suggestions or tell me of an already prepared protein shake that is good?

I also use Premier Protein shakes. They carry them at Costco in a box of 18. My local grocery store (Vons) sells them in a 4-pack. It is a few cents more at Vons. I really like them and I can tell you I am really picky.

I found that GNC's Wheybolic 60's chocolate and cookies and cream are awesome.
Unjurys chicken soup is the bomb..
Premier choclate and vaniil shakes are awesome as well..

Keep in mind that whey protein does not have lactose in them so your lactose intolerance should not cause any issues..

If it does then go for the soy isolate protein powders.

If you have a GNC in your area, try their Lean Shake. Very good taste, 3 flavors. Already liquid no mixing. I also had to do the small Atkins advantage shake twice a day for the pre op diet I was on, so I kept it after surgery. Between one Lean Shake and 1 atkins shake it gives you 40g protein daily. No mixing either one. Then I also drink a couple small V-8 juice during the day. gives you a lot of different flavors, make up the rest of the necessary liquids with water or Zero vitamin water.

If your concern is protein count, the Premier Protein shake has 30g in one shake. No need to add anything to it.

I have a stomach that is very touchy & am lactose intolerant. Was drinking a soy based protein drink from EAS but they discontinued it after 5 years. Any suggestions ? Been trying GNC lean shakes but the swiss chocolate has a funny taste.

I'm stuck having to have a whey protein isolate shake. The shakes I hear are good, do not have the isolate, whatever that is, in them.

I just looked through my notes and American whey protein got incredible taste reviews. After surgery I plan on using it with skim milk. I'm allergic to nuts or I would try almond milk. Good luck in finding something.

I have been drinking the premier protein shakes. I have the pre-mixed versions that comes in chocolate, vanilla, strawberries and cream, and a few other flavors. Try them out maybe this will be better.

I drink the Premier protein shakes. They come in chocolate, vanilla, strawberries n cream and banana n cream. Today I made my own using vanilla Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement powder, 8 oz. of water, sugar free Caramel syrup and about 1/3 of a frozen banana and I added a little ice and made it into a smoothie. YUM!!!! I made one for my husband and he even liked it. He is so supportive. He's going to do a shake for breakfast and dinner and eat lunch. My surgery is 2 days away. This time next week, it will be over. I hope everything goes fine.

Hello, I use gen pro medical grade protein powder, it is tasteless and oderless and each scoop is 30g of protein. I put it in crystal lite taste good. I dont do great with milk either. Can mix with anything, water gets the color distorted but you can't taste the powder...
Hope you find everything well
