Fitness Personal Training

Hello everyone, My name is Lucy, I am 50 years old and recently I became a certified personal trainer. Before surgery I can't say I always liked exercise but I didn't dislike it if that makes sense. I was just always afraid to go to the gym. Since surgery (2/2006) I didn't go to a gym right away. I started run/walk until I could run instead of splitting it with walking. I got up to 13 miles a day I was so excited. With the surgery and running I lost most of my weight. After about 2yrs I started going to the gym I did boot camp classes, boxing for fitness I was so in love that I literally went 2 to 3 times in one day. I also had a personal trainer. I called her the red Devil! She was hard core and she would not let me quit!! I was also working at the YMCA they let me teach a couple of exercise classes. With all of that said and I am sure there are more of us out there who has had the surgery and feels this way. But, I thought to myself I want to help people like me who has had the surgery or people who are afraid to go to the gym for one reason or another. That is why I became a personal trainer. Originally I wanted to help woman over 40 but that isn't enough I would love to help both men and woman who fit this catergory. So now I am trying see where i can go to find people like me and help them become healthy, fit and strong and come to love fitness the way I have. Any, Ideas? I am new to this site. I thought this would be a good place to start. Anyone interested that is from the Old Lyme, CT area or Hampton, CT area please send me an email lucilla.martinez@aol.com

Hi Lucy,
Why didn't you state where you are located (city, state) and provide an email (use yahoo or gmail for security sake) so that people can respond. Hope this helps.
Laura
