How Many pounds are you down

Hi, my name is Sherry. I had the gastric bypass surgery June 12, 2017 and have lost around 60lbs so far. I wish I could lose faster.
Sherry, don't be down on yourself. You are doing awesome!!! I had bypass 12/6/16 and am only down 118. I have some things against me, but happy to be where I am. Be proud of yourself girl!!!

You sound like you are doing great, to fast is not a good thing although we all wish we would wake up thin lol but just keep it up, remember protein first and hopefully you have no room for anything else

My surgery was 5/10/2017 I'm down 23 lbs which I lost the 1st 2 weeks. I haven't lost any weight since. I've been STILL on smoothies and purée foods but haven't lost a pound. I still haven't been able to get 64oz of water each day but getting my protein in. What do you think I should do - I'm stalled?
Hi Bella,

I am in the Dallas area too. How is it going for you since this post?

Went to the doctor today and lost another 14lbs. So far since June 12, 2017 I have lost a little over 70lbs. I used to dread getting on the scales but now I look forward to it. Never thought I'd say that.

I lost 44 pounds before surgery. I had my surgery July 19, 2017 and am down 29 pounds since surgery. I also have seen people lose more faster but am happy with my progress.

Since my surgery on June 12, 2017 I have lost 74 pounds. I feel like I should be losing more. I put on a pair of pants the other day and took two steps and they fell down to my ankles. When I sit now things aren't comfortable anymore. I guess it's because I don't have as much cushion back there as I used to. Thinking about cutting out one meal a day to loose faster.

I just got out of the primary doctors office post op follow up and I am down 20lbs so far from the beginning in Feb to one week post op. I am grateful for the praise my doc gave me. Made my day. Hope

are doing good. I'm a slow loser, but try not to focus on what others are doing. I've actually quit looking at how much I've lost since surgery and just focus on the total number since I first saw my weight loss surgeon and began a healthier lifestyle. I've been happier since then.

You are losing very quickly. Don't ruin what your body is doing by pushing it into starvation mode. You might very well see your weight loss slow down.

You going girl! With all of the problems you are having, I am so happy you are able to focus on the positive. Keep it up.

It has been one year since I began this journey and almost 9 months since my surgery. Due to 4 medications I am on that have side effects of weight gain, my weight loss has been slow. It has been coming off and I have gone from a size 28 to a size 16 so far, so I am happy. I am down 121#. I still have 71# to go. Can't wait to see what size I am then.

I had my first post op appt with the surgeon today and I am down 21 pounds since surgery, which was August 10th. A total of 48 pounds since I first went to see him to start this journey into weight loss. I was so happy, I actually broke below 250. I haven't been there in 20 years or more. Down to 248 now.

My biggest challenge has been eating enough now that I am on soft foods, and getting enough to drink. It seems to take me half a day for one bottle of water, and I don't think that's enough. I have been using jello now and then to beef up the liquids, so I could be ok, hopefully. Also, its hard to remember to eat when you are just NOT hungry at all. Doc says I should be eating 6 small meals a day of 150 calories, and just stop when I am ready. That really sounds like I will be eating all day, but I will give it a try.

To those of you who are struggling to make your diets work for you, including myself!, keep up the good work. As long as we keep on working at it, we will make it through and become the person we want to be.

Do not

Cut out a meal, your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop losing weight, you are doing great, remember slow and steady gets the worm,

You are now way ahead of me on your weight loss, all that walking is paying off great job

Thanks. I jump on the scale later this morning to see where I am for this week, so I will truly see if all of this walking has done any good.
You are doing awesome, remember when we both thought "why aren't we losing weight", we were worried for nothing, we are both within reach of our goals

My goal weight is 202. I am now 302. I think I can said the little engine. Lol. I feel a lot better with the weight off my spine some. I have arthritis. It is getting a bit easier. Whew. Thankful.

Good going. I too have arthritis in my back as well as degeneration. Injections and PT did nothing for it, but as soon as I began getting this weight off, I began feeling 100% better. I'm sure you will feel better and better as your weight comes off too. Keep it up.
