Living in Liquid Diet HELL

You are amazing now and you will be amazing and healthy in the end. I am still pre-op. Hoping they don't deny me cuz I gained weight and lost it but haven't lost anymore so I'm back to my original weight. Be proud that you are at the stage where you are now. You have come this far. My mantra is going to be... Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.

My surgeon has me drinking the Carnation Breakfast Essentials (5 g protein) with one cup Simply Smart Fat Free Milk (10 g protein) three times a day, plus a Fat Free Greek Yogurt (12 g protein). So I'm getting 57 grams of protein a day, but it's not doing it for me. Honestly, I think I need to cheat tonight and have a salad with chicken. I did really well all week and I will be back at it again tomorrow for another week... I just honestly feel weak and sick from being so hungry.
So th
I feel your pain, the liquid diet is very hard to do... I had to do that in feb.... But I am down 88 lbs since the start of my journey... Went from size 42 pants to a size 34 so far.... Keep the thought of the new you... It will be well worth it....
oh lord I will start my liquid date on September 5 th not looking forward to it. I'm sure I will struggle also. Will keep you posted ! Lol

Day 2 of pre-op diet and I am failing miserably. I had 2 oz more meat than I was supposed to, my butter was probably a smudge more that 2 teaspoons. I am pretty sure that my 1/2 cup of rice was more like 2/3, . All I do is think about food and what's next.

Everyone told me it would be hard. Stupid me, thinking it couldn't be that hard. You and I are at about the same place. My surgery date is the 13th. I fly down to Seattle this Friday, I'm hoping getting ready for that and the travel will keep me busy for a couple of days. Somehow I think if a get to a week from now, I can do the last 3 days without being so crabby :)

Well had surgery last Thursday doing fair,,had a hard time getting rid of post op gas,but today I feel much better, really hard to sips liquids slowly, one time took too much at one time and had discomfort but I have learned my lesson.

Moody, the person you're trying to reply to hasn't been active on this board since 2017.

If you're having a laparoscopic procedure, the surgeon will put gas in your stomach area in order to separate the organs more easily. This gas will leave you over a period of days in the traditional form of farts.

Isopure has some that are 40grams of protein and no aspartame, I am going to be starting my liquid diet in about 4 weeks and will drink the grape Isopure mixed with crushed ice - like a snow cone or something.
Where do you get this isopure? My brother had duodal switch. In the grape I believe. That's like a protein water right?

Hi Diane! I'm doing ok. I don't see phych or nutritionist until 7-3 and surgeon 7-17. Wish it was sooner. I have been checking in with others posts and learning all kinds of stuff. You ladies rock with support and ideas for me. I have the most respect for all of trying to lead healthy lives. I think about all of you during my day and hope to be ok when my time comes. I look forward to putting my date of surgery on the calendar as well. I have a feeling in will be late summer early fall. Nice if wasn't hot days.

Well, we could be surgery twins if you would wait until August 20th! I don't think it was a bad idea at all to have it in the summer. There was still plenty of time for me to get out into the woods and mountains before everything got too snowy. And oh my God was it fun shopping for clothes.
