My name is Debbie, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to the group and looking forward to hearing about other people's journeys, good and bad. Three years ago I had an unexplained pulmonary embolism in my lung. The doctors don't know where it came from or why, I only had the one clot. Long story short, because of that my doctor wants me to have an IVC Filter implanted before my Sleeve Gastrectomy. I am very nervous because now I'm having two procedures instead of one. Has anyone else had this procedure done? Any information or advise would be awesome

This is the first I've heard of this, it's interesting. I had two procedures done at the same time, so I get the being nervous thing, but I think you'll do well! :) The extra surgery I had done interfered with well, pretty much everything and threw off the whole recovering and eating schedule, but yours doesn't seem like it will interfere with your recovery from the WL side of things, it just sounds like it might be a bit painful but is a precaution taken to take care of you, so I hope it works out well for you and isn't too uncomfortable! Welcome to the group and I hope you have a very successful surgery!

Thank you for responding and welcoming me to the group! It's comforting to know others have gone through the same thing and can advise or just be there when I get nervous or just need someone to ask questions, and who better to ask than someone who has experienced it first hand! Thank you again! I'm looking forward to meeting more members of the group!
