  • Hello Bigtallsis Im so sorry i have been a way for a long time, I started school and then we moved back to WA state. Yes im still down almost 120lbs and im very happy. I've gain a few pounds back but i think it has something to do with my medication for my hormones that im on but im not sure. Im going to start walking with my son and get it back off. how are you doing?
Donna, I cancelled my surgery. Major snowstorm kept us immobile. I'm an accountant so January - April 15 is crazy. I am going to continue my healthy eating habits and logging my food on My Fitness Pal. I may revisit this later in 2013. Guess I should drop out of this site but still like to follow my new buddies success. Happy New Year
Thanks for your comments! It really helps to hear from others who are going through this as well. Since my post I've also gone to a support group and that has helped me greatly as well!!! Again, thanks for your reply!!!!!!!!!
I have been reading through some of the forums and there is a great amount of answers to questions. It really helped me pre-op. and now I am sure it will help me post-op. It will be one of my "go-to" sites pretty much daily. I just need to remind myself that it's only been 8 days. It's hard in the beginning that's for sure but when these feelings wear off I will be as happy as a lark. I hope your surgery goes well. What type are you having done? I will follow your posts and journey.
Thank you so much for your prayers and the nice welcome. Almost instantly after I sent that post I started to feel better. I think I was at my lowest. I couldn't get the protein down (my husband had bought me the shots and ready made drinks, like grape flavour and cherry flavour) and everything tasted sooo sweet - yuk. My sister came over and said "that's enough, I'm going shopping for something different". It has been very good since then. Now I'm having Dannon Fit and Light peach yogurt in the morning, little bit of refried beans with melted low fat cheese on top for lunch and either mashed up potato or kozy shack rice pudding at dinner. I will make a protein shake (vanilla powder) with 1/3 banana in it and have that 2 times inbetween the food. Much better. The pain from the incisions is so much better too. This time next week I will be laughing at it all. (I hope) :)
Hey Donna! Just checking in on you. How are things going? Any word on a surgery date yet? Are you getting anxious, excited a combination of the two? I slipped up on my eating today, but tomorrow is a new day and I will be strong and try and stick to a good plan. Gloria
    Hi,
im eating mostly chicken .They told us not to use prtien drinks as a meal replacement, they are ok just eat something with them. they also said each meal should be no more than 2 cups so go figure my brain is on overload trying to balance it all. Sandra

Bigtallsis, I'm Newme55 or Kris to my friends. I have lost 63 pounds total since November when I started my journey. Lost 30 pounds since my Feb.8th 2012 surgery. I am averaging 10 pounds per month. I have been told that it is good. We are always hardest on ourselves.lol. I thank God for the teaching I got from a Diatician a year before surgery as I had become Diabetic...she had me give up sugar, carbinated drinks, sweetbreads. So I had done the hard work BEFORE surgery. It was a tremendous help. Kris

    Donna,
Don't feel bad about your feeling from one special needs mom to another most people have know idea what that's like and although we love them and realize the privellege to parent them, we are only human and we get frustrated, until that special smile, or hug, or word or even look then everything is right with the world again. I look forward to the day we are both healither and in a better position to deal with the obstacles that come our way! You are in my prayers! Sandra
Hi Donna thanks for the encoragement. Everything was good, my time was 1:44:41, I felt great the whole time, my legs got a little sore towards the last 1/4 mile but I think a protien shake half way would have helped that out. There is a half marathon run on the 28th I am still thinking about that one it's 13 miles, I'll see how I feel in a couple of days, real sore right now. Tom
