    Family unhappy with my weight

Thank you Cheyenne! I have no intentions on reversing my surgery so that was never an option. We have been having family issues and my hubby has been out of work since Sept and now though we love each other, things are rough and we are not living together. He is at his sisters home helping her...

    Family unhappy with my weight

Hi everyone! I am currently 18 months out and have lost 130 lbs since surgery, with a total of 150.25 lost. I feel I am at a good place and fairly happy with my weight. I have family that say I should have it reversed cause they don't like how I look, that I was prettier when I was heavy or that...

    Bread

I agree about the bread, I find it easier to eat if I toast it first. Not that I am always where I can toast something. I am 18 months out and there are still things I have trouble eating. Just take it one day at a time. If you find that you can't stand something at first when trying it after...

Been a long time, checking in

Thank you Hunger Buddy. My husband did give me a message, but it didn't help at all. Didn't have any alcohol, and right now yoga is out of the question due to some back problems. Good luck with your surgery. I didn't have any regrets about mine and I am really happy with my weight loss and so is...

Been a long time, checking in

Hi everyone. It has been a very long time since I have been on here. Things are crazy with me right now. On the good note, I am 5 lbs from my goal weight. On the bad notes....I have sludge in my gallbladder, which will have to be removed eventually. I have had lots of pain in my back along with...

Malnurished and ready to start over: but where to begin?

Thank you so much! I am taking biotin, and I am getting plenty of protein, the surgeon says to continue to maintain my protein levels. The thinning hair is a result of the thyroid issue I believe. My pouch has not been able to tolerate the protein shakes, so I have to look for creative ways to...

Malnurished and ready to start over: but where to begin?

Sarah, try looking under bariatric surgeons in your area, or weight loss surgeons. You could also try the phone book. Also a nutritionist could be of some help for you.

Long time since I checked in here

Hi everyone! It has been quite some time since I have been on here and decided it was time to get back on the ball. Things are going fairly well. I am almost at the 100 lb mark. My blood work has looked pretty good, supposed to stay away from starches and sweets. I also found out I have a nodule...

Malnurished and ready to start over: but where to begin?

Sarah, have you spoken with your bariatric surgeon? Or at least someone in the bariatric field. I think considering the circumstances, they should be able to help you along with your meal plans. I had my Duodenal switch last summer, and I haven't been the greatest patient as far as my eating has...

    Bowel movements have changed concernedi

I will give them a call tomorrow. Maybe I can get in next week. I know it seems like a long time, but I can only go on certain days of the week. I even checked my book and there wasn't anything there about that.

    Bowel movements have changed concernedi

What about greasy stools or uncontrollable stools? I know it sounds gross, but these are issues I am having lately. The greasy or oily looking stools have been since surgery back in June, just thought it was normal. However, sometimes I cannot control them and worry if something is wrong. I had...

Hair Loss after Weight Loss Surgery

I have just recently started thinning out my hair. I used to have thicker hair, but kinda of like it thinner. Though I was concerned about my protein intake. I eat as much protein as I possibly can, though its not always easy. I cannot have any milk products, so many things are not an option for...

    Is this normal?

I was told that it is normal to gain a little after surgery especially when you start eating more real foods. I haven't had a gain yet, but you never know when that will happen. That pound could be water weight especially if you are having issues with fluids. I still have issues with protein so...

    Is this normal?

We should be eating more than 3 oz a day, putting 3 per meal or so. I was told no more than 1 cup of food total per meal. If I am still hungry after that then to get a 1/2 cup.

    Diarrhea and Tummy Cramps Question

What is your diet like? I still get diarrhea but usually if I eat or drink something that I'm not supposed to have. I haven't had my gallbladder out yet. The only stomach pains or cramping I get is when I get too much intestinal gas, but once I take several gas x strips it usually subsides.

    Is this normal?

I didn't get a book, but I have an online guide from the surgeon. I still have trouble getting in protein, and I have noticed my hair is thinning somewhat.

When can I start eating salads?

I don't remember when I was told when I can have lettuce. I had my surgery June 25, and and I have been enjoying salads very much since November I think. I enjoy them much more than I ever used to.

How Happy Are You With Your Decision To Have Weight Loss Surgery?

I'm really happy with my surgery. I do have a few little issues that I will always have to deal with though. I can eat a lot of different foods. However, I am still unable to drink milk, or eat yogurt or things like that. I also can eat wheat bread, white bread is a no no, but sometimes I eat a...
