    Who is your surgeon?

My surgeon was Dr. Brad Needleman at Ohio State University. I had a great experience both pre, and postoperatively.

    abdominal binders????

I loved my binder for the first week or so. They provided it for me at the hospital, so I wouldn't bother purchasing your own.

Very frustrated, haven't lost a single ounces in 3 weeks

The three most common reasons for dizziness are dehydration, anemia, and low blood pressure. It could even be a little of all three. 64oz. is your minimum required fluid intake, and is generally not enough if you are working out regularly. Anemia is also a problem for WLS patients. Only your...

    Tomatoes

I was not allowed raw fruit/vegetables until stage IV, which was almost four months out. Every program is a little different, so check with your RD/nutritionist.

    Recovery time-time off work.

I had my RNY at the end of January, and went back the first of March. I took 5 weeks. I was scheduled to go back at 6 weeks. I could never have gone back at two weeks.

    Hello

Welcome! Yes, it is normal to changes in smell and taste right after surgery. As Frank already mentioned, this should resolve over time (for the most part). Just keep following your plan, and give it time.

just got home from gastric sleeve surgery.

Congratulations on your successful surgery. The first few weeks are hard, not to mention the immediate post-op period. It will all be worth it in the end.Enjoy your time off. P.S. I guess I should feel lucky that I only got stuck 9 times for my IV.

    protein shakes and bars

Personally, I like the Unjury Chocolate Splendor, and the Syntrax nectar Chocolate Truffle. Both are excellent products, and come in many flavors. Syntrax also makes fruity protein drinks. Unjury is an excellent company, and has a 100% refund if you don't like the product. I too tried many...

    Hi, I'm new here!

Welcome! I think the others have summed it up well about the exercise...baby steps :) As for the medication, I don't have depression, but I was taking pills in the hospital, and when I got home too. Just ask your doctor or NP about this ahead of time. Hey, Lacey! I'm from Ohio too! Where are...

Trying to decide between gastric bypass and the sleeve.

I am a little disappointed in your surgeon. It does not sound like he took your considerations into heart. Maybe RNYs are not his forte? Personally, I don't think you should settle, but it is your decision to make. The sleeve is a good tool, and I almost decided on the sleeve for myself. When I...

    New and Devastated

There are many reasons bariatric programs require a psych evaluation. I think the most concerning is that you had a recent psych-related hospital stay (I am assuming that March was this past month, and not last year?). As you have said, you also have a lot going on. Bariatric surgery comes with...
