Just got home from the hosptal . I had a gastric sleeve done .... Not feeling to well

Jamie I have the sleeve so I can say that you need to give your body a chance to heal. If I could eat 2 bites of a Popsicle after my surgery it was a good thing. I don't remember how long it took me to be able to eat a cup of anything. Even now when I eat or drink too fast I will get pain...

    surgery

You will have a new normal, and the water issue is not that big of a price to pay for a healthy body that does not hurt all the time! It is some what a challenge to get in 64 oz of water, I cannot chug it like I used to. I carry a frozen bottle with me everywhere and sip it as it melts. I...

    surgery 2morrow

What did your Doctor say about it? I know it is not easy to be vulnerable but you must be honest with your surgeon! I was nervous before my surgery also but I never considered cancelling. I can only suggest you consult your doctor.

Sorry for the slow reply. I have lost 41lbs so far. My husband had surgery last week and this has not been a good week for me. I have been up and down all week but ended the week with only 1/2lb loss. But I am back to taking care of me now and hope to get back on track. As far as...

Hi pianomom. Do you walk? My surgery was also in December and I kinda stalled for about a week too. I loose about 1/3 to 1/2 lb a day, that is until this past week. My husband had back surgery and I was in the hospital with him all week, sitting on my butt drinking cranberry juice. I did...

No I do not get sick. I learned the hard way not to drink and eat at the same time. Even them I was not like I was "sick" I just had to get rid of the liquid in my stomach. Some stuff I have learned will be uncomfortable. like I cannot eat bread now but I can have toast. I miss drinking...

My surgery was easy, I was up that night walking and I really think that helped me. Every 3 or 4 hours I would do a few laps around the ward. The fear is just your brain telling your body to look out!

    Constipation

I have found that if I take an omega 3-6-9 complex it really helps. I do not understand how fish oil helps because it is supposed to be for other stuff but I am just thankful it helps me.

    presurg jitters

Don't panic, it is not like they are going to sew your mouth shut and you will never ever get to experience chocolate again! I had the sleeve in December and was thinking along the same lines. The difference now vs before is I can eat 3 MM's not 3 bags and be satisfied. I do not indulge a...

I really wish that I had not been so stubborn and waited so long. I turned 50 last year and finally decided to put on my "big girl" panties no more, I was doing this for me and that was it. Just think about things that you have not done because of your weight, them make a list of what you are...

Jeannie Hello! I am new here too. I had the sleeve on December 18, 2012. I did not want to have to get fills or worry about slippage of the band. I wanted to not have to go in for some other procedures but be able to focus on getting on with my life post-surgery. Best thing I have ever...

Joanne It is okay to be nervous, you are taking a big step. Please do not psych yourself out, keep a positive attitude. One step at a time, don't borrow trouble and worry about what ifs, just do your very best right now. Do everything your Doctor tells you to do and you will be better than...
