    New day Still hurt

I completely understand the need for pain management but to prescribe someone oxi's when there are different medications like liquid loratab that are not as strong or dangerous. I think its ridiculous as a nation to lean on pain killers the way that we do. 15 years ago you were sent home with...

    Taking your lunch to work

I am a month out and I keep stuff at work so to not be tempted to venture out. I keep greek yogurt, string cheese, ham and turkey breakfast sausage in the breakroom and I have stuff like sf pudding, soup, protein powder (chocolate, vanilla and unflavored), protein bars (quick easy high protein)...

    Help lost my motivation

Sweetie you have lost 85% of your excess body weight in 9 months. That is fantastic. Don't let your mind get wrapped around the numbers. Try mixing it to confuse your body. Do low cal/low carb/high protein for 2 days and then high cal/high carb/high protein for a day and then back to low for 2...

    New day Still hurt

I don't understand why doctors prescribe such a strong pain killer. I was on the pain meds for the 2 days I was in the hospital, 1st day home and then every now and then when I over did it. My meal plan was 2 weeks liquid, 1 week puree and then soft foods then adding in slowly.

    I give up....

I have decided to take a break from the scale. I am on soft foods now so I am having to watch my carb intake and protein and hopefully I will see a change in a few weeks.

Feel as though I made a HUGE Mistake having WLS

I know this is cliché but everything happens for a reason. I know this isn't the same BUT my mom was an alcoholic whom we all thought was perfectly healthy. 6 years ago she quit drinking and went into recovery. All of the sudden there were issues with too much protein in her urine and was...

    Family unhappy with my weight

Let me guess before surgery you put them before yourself right? Now you are putting yourself first. By now they should have acclimated to the change. You hubby is happy and seems concerned for your well being. Your gallbladder is a big deal and hopefully you will be able to take care of that asap.

    I give up....

I don't know if that is supposed to be a goal to hit or if that's what they want me at every day. I hit 950 yesterday but that is just because I ate refried beans for lunch and dinner with provolone cheese (didn't realize how high in calories it was). I tend to get less in when I am at work...

    I give up....

No I lost all of my retained water during pre-op. My ankles are skinny again! I can see my ankle bones including the screw that hold my metal plate.

    I give up....

I use myfitnesspal.com. I am now at the puree stage and I just can't stand the though of pureeing any meats so I eat a lot of low fat refried beans that I add low fat cheddar cheese and low fat cream cheese to for extra protein. I am drinking 1-2 protein shakes/drinks a day. I add unflavored...

    I give up....

My doc wants me at 1000 cals a day. Right now it feels like breakfast consists of vitamins. Yesterday I got 954, 72oz water and 75g of protein. Mentally I know it takes time but hormonally that thought doesn't happen. I have talked to my doctor about it and he and the nutritionist say its...

    I give up....

Im so upset all the pain and time missed from work. 5 weeks without solid foods and for what? Not a damn thing. Surgery was 3 weeks ago and I see people that had surgery the same day saying "yay im down 10, 15, 20 pounds since surgery". What do I have to say "oh im up 3 freaking pounds since...

    Moving on to regular food....

I am 2 weeks out as well and I haven't found anything I can't tolerate yet. Quantity is a big issue for me too especially since I have no issue with breads.

    getting frusterated

I am getting my fluids in and about 50-60g of protein but I will be glad when I don't have to choke down as many protein shakes. 1 a day is manageable. I haven't noticed my clothes fit any differently from the pre-op diet. My surgeon isn't concerned about it because I lost 32 pounds on pre-op

    getting frusterated

so I am 9 days post op and I am probably just being whiny but my scale hasn't budged and honestly it almost doesn't feel like I had the surgery. I don't know if I healed fast or what but I have no problem getting my water. I never really feel uncomfortably full. I didn't realize that a mouthful...
