    Help with head hunger!

I think that we all experience flashes of 'head hunger' if we were never emotional eaters we wouldn't have needed the surgery. I try to stop and work through it with the Lord, and I have a protein shake (even a couple drinks will do it) or I have a warm sugar free Chi Tea. That really...

    Constant hunger??

Try Quest bars. I do not like most protein bars, but I love these. 20-21 grams protein 170 cal. They have helped me so much. I also like premiere protein vanilla or strawberry---not choc---protein shakes from Costco. 31 protein, 160 cal. Good for in between my little meals and getting in the...

Hi Marilyn, This will be a very good thing for your health! I still have to take my anti-depressant and my thyroid meds. But, I am off of my BP meds and some others. I made sure to discuss it with my surgeon & regular doc. We got all things switched over to tables from capsules so that I...

things that you don't think about

What a journey! I did not think about my sunglasses, but they do fall off! Funny! It is such a strange new world. I am finally feeling more 'normal' with it. No regrets at all, and thanking God for this opportunity! Blessings to you all!!! T.

Hi Everyone, I'm new here and to this journey

Hello Aisha, So glad you have made your choice. I do not think you will regret it. I had VSG on 11-26-13 and am now down 53 lbs total. There is still SO much I'm getting used to but it gets easier with time. You are doing great and a good surgeon will be such a blessing. God bless you in your...

Hello everyone. I hope this finds you all well. I'm now 16 weeks out from my VSG surgery. I have lost 49 pounds now and am almost in "onederland" as they say. It has been more than an adventure, the anxiety has calmed down. One tip I found (which you all probably know) is that cold water really...

Water Intake after the "Sleeve" seems IMPOSSIBLE! :(

Thanks Pinky, I agree. I find that I can get a warm cup of decaf tea down easier, I have a big 12 oz. mug and it goes pretty quick with Truvia and a dollop of fat free milk....so I have become a rabid tea drinker, LOL!~ twill

Are carbs ok 3mo.s after "The Sleeve" surgery?

Gosh, I don't know. I am pretty much a newbie, just a month out. But, maybe you should call your surgeon, or nutritionist. I know too many carbs will shut weight loss down pretty quickly. I am a little concerned because I have thyroid problems along with it all and my hair is pretty thin...

    Need advice

I am 3 weeks out from my sleeve and I have been very selective about whom I have told, for many of the reasons mentioned here. It is a really private journey for me. This life long battle has often been way too public. So for now I am staying quiet about it. But as things progress, who knows...
