1 week post op pain

Noticed everyone complains about the gas, is it normal to have pain in my lower right stomach? Near my surgery wound?

I was lucky in that I didn't have any gas pain. However, I have been burping alot since surgery. Not painful, but annoying.

I am 4-days post-op, and I have had gas pain as well. Mine is on my left side, and comes and goes. My surgery was laparoscopic, so I have five small incisions around my stomach, not a single wound area. There does not appear to be any correlation of my pain to the wound locations.

reports of pain on the right or the left are common. They usually go away on their own. Whether or not it's gas, we don't know. But if you have pain at any time, in any place, do not assume it's from surgery. That's not the first place you should go to investigate a problem. CALL YOUR SURGEON first and have hands laid on you to feel for abnormalities like an appendix about to rupture.

Always talk to your surgeon. I had pain and couldn't keep anything down. Its important to speak to the surgeon because it can be a number of things.
