abg and other tests

I have all my tests and evals set up for this month (YAY so excited kinda).
the 16th my first one on one with diatition (manditory 4month supervised diets), the 18th my psych eval. the 30 is the lung Dr. and the 31st is my ABG, tons of other blood work and my UGI (upper GI).

My question: Has anyone had an ABG (artirial blood gas)? Does it really hurt like everyone is telling me it does?

yes, the ABG does hurt I'm afraid. It is a blood test from the artery instead of the vein, as most blood tests use.

I haven't needed all those tests, so why so many? I had to do 3 month nutrition, psych eval, sleep study and an endoscope...why do you need the ABG and the lung dr? Just curious
