Bacon, bacon, bacon . . .

Not exactly, but . . .

Polar Kipper Snacks, Naturally Smoked Boneless Fillets of Herring

Drain well; reserve liquid to add to soups or vegetables. Finely chop one-half teaspoon to one teaspoon or so (to your taste), add to scrambled eggs or egg substitute or frittata. (Add in toward end of cooking.) I kid you not. Tastes just like Bacon and Eggs is back on the menu.

Also good added to a salad, tomatoes, etc., anywhere you might think of adding bacon for some flavoring oomph.

I grew up eating kipper snacks. I love 'em but to say it tastes like bacon is stretching things. It's very fishy tasting with a great smokey flavor...

I was an adult before I discovered the delights of Kipper Snacks and Pickled Herring and the like. I usually think of them as fishy tasting, too, Pat. Not these, though. Don't know why.
