Has anyone had an experience at the Cleveland Clinic? If so could you tell me how they are there and what to expect.

Sorry I cannot.

However, what I will tell you is you are doing the right thing. Thoroughly research your Doctor and your hospital.

The key factor for me was that my hospital was a "bariatric center of excellence". Also, my Doctor was listed as one of the top doctors in my state and in fact in the nation.

Get to their records. See how many procedures your doctor has successfully completed. Ask direct questions such as what was his/her worst experience with a patient. How they handled it. In other words interview your Doctor with respectful but direct questions. A good doctor will NOT take offense and will gladly answer these probing questions.

So, the Cleveland Clinic.

I googled Cleveland Clinic rankings. I see it is #1 in Ohio. I see lots of high rankings. I would have to say you are probably going to an excellent hospital; the best in your state. What I don't see is "bariatric center of excellence". I would ask them more about that. Wow! I just found out that they are a center of excellence. So I am going to tell you that you are probably in excellent hands at this hospital. Now, research the Doctors and make sure you pick a "best doctor" in Ohio. As I have just brushed every so cursory over a whole lot of material on the internet about the Cleveland Clinic I am happy to tell you that I believe you will do well there.

I had my RYGB done at the Cleveland clinic and my doctor is Dr. Matthew Kroh He is wonderful so caring an understanding. I under went a total revision from a VBG done 20 yrs ago the staples at the top came apart and several medical problems started for 6 yrs in an out of the hospital asked them to check my stomach but they keep saying they could see the staples all was ok well after the 6 yrs my gastro doctor found my problem by doing a EDG an there it was she transferred me to Dr Kroh and had my surgery May 23,2014. Who did your surgery and when who was your doctor. Best wishes to you Cathiebea
