Hi everyone!
I just signed up on these forums and I am in the process of finding out if I qualify for surgery. Maybe others who have been in my spot can help.
I did the orientation and received my folder with the first stack of 50 pages of paper to fill out! It's done, but I felt some of it was confusing so the dork (I mean that playfully) that I am made my own timeline in word that's pretty and easy to read and printed that to take with me too! LOL
Anyway... They say I need to prove that the need for surgery will outweigh the risks. So not only do I have to be overweight, I need to list co-morbidity. I don't have any. I'm 5'1" and 270 lbs. However I don't have high blood pressure or see specialists. I am not diabetic (although I was borderline when I was pregnant). My major complaints are being tired (causing more weight gain), not keeping up with my children, not sleeping well because of my size, low libido (more of a problem for poor DH), heavy long periods... etc.
They also say to prove you've tried everything else... that I can prove with no problem!!
So will I be able to qualify if I'm not seeing a host of specialists and have a bunch of co-morbidities?
Thanks for your help, and nice to "meet" you!
