Hi Keri. Welcome to the group! :) I found that the first month or so my body was trying to adjust to the new calorie allotment it was getting. I had dieted so much in the past that it was used to going into starvation mode and holding on to EVERY single calorie I took in. At this stage I was eating soft foods, is this what you are eating? I wasn’t really exercising as I was still a little sore from surgery. what I recommend is making sure you are getting at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week and make sure you are eating 3 times a day. You’d be surprised how many people decide to quit eating after surgery. Good luck and hope to see you around.

I seem to read this issue over and over for sleeve patients, weight loss seems to be slow and steady with a few plateaus thrown in for frustrations sake. However, I have also noticed that most are super successful over time {with a lot of patience} later as they adjust to the new lifestyle, which is where I hope your headed! Congrats on your new journey! :D

My appointment went well, they reassured me that it is very common for the weight loss to stall, while your body is adjusting. They were happy that I joined this site. I agree, I am grateful that I can take this journey with others.

So glad your appointment went well. This site has been a great place for me. Much better than my local support group.

Hi Keri, I'm also new here and I feel you on this. After my surgery I list about 12lbs then nothing for weeks. I got so discouraged thinking I didn't even have the surgery. I wouldn't Even get near my scales to check my weight. But last week I got brave and got on them and saw that I had gone from 227-205, WOW! I was so surprised!

Wow Mary thats great ! I just started to see the numbers down on the scale, I had to put my scale away because I was driving myself crazy stepping on it everyday. I now weight myself once a week. I am having trouble getting all my water I get so full fast, so I think when my weight stalls its because of that. I will just take it day by day.

Hi Keri, I to am having a time trying to get the 64oz of water every day. So I decided to use the GenePro protein powder I love it. I just add the recommended amount 1 scoop in a 16.9 oz bottle of water and that way I'm getting my water and my protein all at once. I do this three times a day. It's still not 64oz but close. I'm still not at the point where I can do the food, water, and protein. So this is my way of taking a bite out of it all!!

Hello everyone! Yes it's been a while. Just wanted to let you all know how I'm doing. Well I'm still not losing a lot, but at the same time I haven't gained any either. I'm down 32lbs since my surgery August 24, 2017. I know it's not much But I'm greatful for that. I'm doing well and feeling great. I walk when the weather allows, and if it doesn't I walk in the house until I do six to eight thousand steps. Now I must admit I don't do it everyday because I can get a little lazy. But overall I'm doing Good and hope all of you are also.

Awesome :) Glad to hear your doing well! Slow and steady weight loss is still loss, so that is great! I was reminded quite recently by the nutritionist that during the first year of loss I needed to keep between 90-120 grams of protein with the 64 oz of fluid daily if I wanted to continuously lose the weight, and once I reach my goal weight I can drop to 60 grams of protein daily. I don't know if that helps you, but maybe? Took me forever to get to where I could intake that much stuff throughout the day, I think perhaps they forget that most of our belly was removed, but I am there now and am seeing slow and steady loss as well. :)

I think about the success as much as possible to override the sense of frustration and despair. I wonder though how managed to lose all that weight pre op and can't do it as quickly post op. Weird, I tell ya. So I find myself looking at how I ate for six months pre op compared to these first 5 months. It seems daunting at times but I feel relief when that one pound fell off and stayed off. Patience is not the patient. But patients have to have patience. Grr.

Thanks. And yes that helps me a whole lot, I'm still battling the journey of trying to get the 64 oz of water. I'm only able to do about 3 bottled of the 16.9 fl oz a day and it's been four months now. But I won't stop until I get there. I still get full fast but I know this will get better to as time goes by. Tks for the encouragement. I pray you're doing well to.
