Hey guys! Just had gastric sleeve on May 7th. Been REALLY hard!! I miss chewing! My emotions are up and down every day.

Congratulations on your surgery!!! Life will certainly change but you will adapt and become content with your new normal. For now you're still on such a restricted, likely liquid diet. It gets MUCH better, I promise!

Chew on ice - kills two birds with one stone - fluids and chewing! I would suggest either crushed ice or Sonic ice tho.

I don't think we have that a restaurant chain around here. I'm really curious. What is it about the ice that makes it so chewable or wonderful or special?

I looked up Sonic in Seattle and we don't have one. You have to drive 20 miles to Renton or take a really long ferry ride up to Poulsbo if you want to get Sonic anything.
It's a little bit ironic if you realize that our NBA team that we used to have was called the Seattle Sonics. That would have been a natural merchandising tie-in, wouldn't it?

Oddly enough it’s kind of a soft ice. I don’t chew it though because my teeth are too sensitive to cold. I used to love it though.

It is the best ice in the world for chewing!! Soft enough to not hurt your teeth, but still crunchy!
