Hospitalized - Any thoughts/Ideas

I've been in the hospital on and off for the last couple of weeks. I'm currently back at home.

I've been having issues keeping food down. Pretty much throwing up everything - including water. I've been dehydrated - extremely weak. They've even tried the feeding tube - can't tolerate that either - that brown crap comes right back up.

I've lost entirely too much weight - over 100 pounds. I truly didn't need to lose that much weight. They've run every test they can think of. They have run scans on pretty much every inch of my body. They thought it could be my diabetic gastro paresis, but that part of my stomach is gone.

Has anyone had any symptoms similar - or spells of throwing up - unable to keep anything down? I'm looking for suggestions on possible foods and liquids that I may be able to keep down.

I'm so sorry you're having these problems.

First, i want to caution you that this might have nothing to do with your WLS. i have a medical horror story. At one point they thought I had a brain tumor. 11 months layer, after 19 doctors, i diagnosed myself with Graves Disease, which is what it was. But you cant believe how many tests and transports to big hospitals before one doctor agreed to test for it.

Are you being seen by specialists? Whatever's going on needs to be found based on your symptoms and injuries. Something bad is happening and it needs to be stopped. You could have COVID, OR an intestinal worm, or something that has migrated from one organ to another. It could even be more serious.

Im just trying to say dont assume its related to WLS. AND dont let them pass you off to some other doctor because they cant figure it out.

Please keep us posted. here's a {{{{HUG }}}}.

Oh, i meant to suggest you try a little molasses in warm milk and use a toddlers sippy cup to let it coat your mouth and passively flow into your esophagus. Then rest. Then sip again. If this works, you can do the same thing with a thin puree. eat and drink in a recliner or prone on the couch. Are you taking ondansetron or omeprazole?

So sorry to hear that Tracey, I hope they can find the problem and you start to feel better soon
