just had bypass

Sounds like water retention and a lot of hot air. But it seems the norm for some people vs other. I forgot what the suggestion was for it but I hope that you are walking often and such.

Is it normal to gain almost 10 pounds right after bypass surgery?
It is normal to gain weight right after surgery, but it is only water weight, it will come back off and when you start moving more it will come off a little quicker, and you will hit many plateaus, I felt like I hit one every week or so, but then I would lose a couple more lbs, don't get discouraged it will come off, good luck and we are all here for ya

The reason you are retaining all of the water is the fluids they pump you with in the hospital. I hope you have lost the weight by now.
