I was told i had to crush my medications so that i would absorb them. And they are disgusting.Congrats on your surgery and glad to hear you are doing well. Could you explain a little more about having a hard time with taking medication? Is it that you can't get it to go down? Pills too big? Upsetting your stomach?
Ugh, so sorry. I can just image it is! Which surgery did you have? I had the sleeve and wasn't told I needed to do that.I was told i had to crush my medications so that i would absorb them. And they are disgusting.
I had the RNY gastric bypassUgh, so sorry. I can just image it is! Which surgery did you have? I had the sleeve and wasn't told I needed to do that.
Awesome!!!! I hope that's much more tolerable for you.Thank you everyone, i called my primary dr and she ordered the meds in a liquid form. It comes in mint flavor so hopefully i can stomach it
Be careful crushing- check with your pharmacist as to what can be crushed or cut. Some of my capsules I was able to open and dump on jello. Mine gradually got better in about a week. Good Luck!It isn't oo unusual for people to struggle with meds after surgery. Crushing pills can help (you can get a pill crusher at a pharmacy if they didn't give you one at the hospital), or cutting them in half or quarters. Capsules can be a pain, depending on size. Spacing out when you take them so you aren't taking them all at once might help, or looking for chewable options, depending on what pills you are referring to.
