New to group old bypass surgery. Magnesium

I’ve found that my magnesium isn’t being absorbed. Had some hospital visits and bloodwork showed magnesium depleted. B12 too. But I can get a shot for that. Anybody else had this problem and found a fix??

i had a magnesium deficiency when I had graves disease, the most common form of hyperthyroidism. it's really great that you're getting it taken care of. these little nutritional things can ruin your health, and you cant go back.`

CBCs once or twice a year are superimportant. you can't see when things are going bad, but your blood levels record every swing.

I guess they don't check for all vitamins and minerals with blood work? I am kinda new, I actually go next week for my first round of blood work.

My doc was concerned about my adrenal glands as related to magnesium. Sorry, I don't know what the side effects look like.

Also, blood work doesn't always mean it's as comprehensive as a CBC, or complete blood count, which I get once a year as part of my annual exam.
