Hi Peggy and welcome to the forum. It has to be rough being away from family and friends. Just take things a day at a time and don't beat yourself up by eating stuff you shouldn't. At least you recognize why you are doing this and are taking the necessary steps to make things better:)

I'm not sure what you mean by food charts. If you are talking about charts that show the nutritional value of food then just do an Internet search. You can log your food in a notebook. There are also a lot of websites that allow you to journal your food intake and provide the nutritional value as well. I use myfitnesspal.com It's not made specifically for bariatric surgery patients so we can't follow their calorie recommendations but other than that it's a wonderful tool for tracking food.

Make sure you come back to the forum to let everyone know how you are doing.

Hi Peggy, Welcome. Stress in and of itself can caus eweight retention and weight gain and also cause us to slip back into old habits, it is good you caught yourself, Like Pat said one day at a time. I know it is difficult being away from all your family and friends so do the best you can and try getting some execise to help reduce the stress and keep in touch with phone calls and facebook. Come back and let us know how you are doing, this can be a wonderfull support group especially if you can't find one close by. Tom

Hi Peggygoforth, I am in Oklahoma also. I'm down south. There are support groups at Norman Regional Hospital once a month. Not sure how far that is for you but I am sure they could find you a group in your area.
