I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Linda and I'm from Mason City, Iowa, as if you couldn't guess, right? I am 57 years and I am disabled. I have a very bad back and I have severe fibromyalgia. I had a vertical banded gastoplasty in October of 2000. I went from 392 to 225. I lost 167 lbs. But in the long run I regained quite a bit of weight. I got back up to 350 lbs. I am now at 280 lbs. I hope it keeps going in this direction. But I have limitations on exercise because of my disability. I will be getting out my exercise bike when my son-in-law removes his chair from my living room. Until then, I have no room. For those who don't know what a vertical banded gastroplastyis it is just fancy words for stomach stapling. They don't do my surgery anymore. They have replaced my surgery with the Lapband!
