I had my sleeve 10 months ago and I've lost 132. But, lately my sugar cravings are killing me. I'm eating sugar all the time and can't stop. Does anyone have ideas that have helped with getting over the cravings or substitutes for sugary treats???

I was actually looking forward to the dumping syndrome. I figured the first time it happen then it would remind me not to eat sugar. Unfortunately, I had two bites of a cup cake and there was no reaction. Has anyone else not had a problem eating sugar?

I've bought some sugar free hard candies, usually one takes care of me. And I'm a sweet nut.

Hi, I have not had surgery but in May I will. I have not had an issue with cravings for sweets, but would eat periodically. Reducing your intake my not be easy for you; however, there are a lot of sugar in foods and you may want to start there. Sugar is like a magnet; it attracts other sugar. Perhaps taking a piece of lemon or lime; it does me when I get an urge or crave of something. Plus, don't focus on the craving; you know the mind has a lot to do with it. I do not know if any of this will help but I'm sharing because I know it is not easy. Praying for you to be success in your journey; congratulations on your weight lost.

Girl Scout cookies arrived last night. I haven't opened any yet but I'm afraid when I do, I won't be able to stop. I am going to give them away to remove the temptation. I shouldn't have even bought them but my niece is a Girl Scout and always hits me up. I haven't wanted anything sweet since surgery but knowing they are in the kitchen is driving me nuts. I told my husband to hide them from me. I did eat an oreo cookie at work the other day and didn't have any issues. I have a lot of head hunger these days. This is not good. I try to get my mind off it.

I have read some post on here where some people have no Issues with sugar. maybe cause you had the sleeve and not a bypass so you can tolerate it better? Hard to tell

I still to chicken to try any sugars... If I don't have an issue it would to easy to fall into the old sugar habits..... My weak spot was for the reeses eggs or trees, hearts... All the holiday ones.... Don't have much interest in them as of now but once and a while I will remember how they tasted, but easy to resist because I think about the dumping syndrome...

I haven't been hungry for anything sweet. It's a miracle. I was always baking on Sundays but I haven't baked anything since Xmas. I will be baking April 8th as we are having family over for dinner. No one else in the family bakes. However, I can avoid eating it, I think. I do crave something salty once in awhile so I eat a couple of peanuts or something. That takes care of it.

I am 12 years post-op and always have been able to eat sugary foods and not get sick like I still do if I over eat regular food. It is a daily struggle even still.

Since that last post, I am able to eat sugary things and don't get sick, ugh, I wish I did, it would be more of a deterrent
