Jan, I totally understand where you are coming from and I am having issues myself...Hope, if you use the bariatric way of eating you can lose weight. You are changing your habitats. First thing, look at your portions. I can only eat half a chicken breast at 2.5 yrs out and (I lost 90lbs from 341 and now I am back up, not over 300) weight gain. I can only eat a 4oz burger (no bun), etc. Now that is my protein. I also will only eat one small tablespoon of potatoes/pasta/starch (including fruit and vegetables). This is how it works. No water half before, during or after...no beverages!!! Eat your protein first, smaller bites and chewing longer. Try using a toddler fork or spoon if needed. Eat the entire protein portion. Next if still hungry, you can have a bite or two more, or finish with your carbs. Put that utensil down between bites. You can have 3-6 meals depending on the calories...Or 3 meals and 2 snacks. Snacks are almonds, half a yogurt container. The key is keeping calories down, carbs down, fiber good, and protein between 80-90 grams. Also, protein shakes/drinks are good for meal replacement. Always look for anything with about 15 grams of protein to replace a meal. Does that help?
Jan, I had a huge surgery in July 2014 (6 months after my sleeve) due to a diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer. So many things have led to me not losing weight, it is maddening. I am at wits end. Starting this month I am making a pledge to myself, to take care of me. Doing whatever I need to do to see that weight go back down. I am looking at another surgery for repair, so I am hoping that will also help and not hinder my progress...I am always here to talk with and I know others in our boat. Good luck
