Weight gain

its ok we're here to help but we need more information. How did surgery go? Did you get sick? Have you been sick afterwards? How much do you eat and drink? My stomach was numb the first two weeks. I had to be careful not to put too much in. Then at three weeks I started to be able to feel the full point. Have you seen any blood when you go to the bathroom? What kind of shakes are you on? How is your moving around? Have you been getting up? Be careful that your urine output matches your water intake. If your taking in more then what is going out you need to let your doctor know.

My surgery went well did not get sick at all. My thing is to that I drink more than I eat I hardly hungry. I am no longer on shakes and move around with no problems. Now I don't have a lot of out put. Will be talking to dr about it I have no blood when I us the restroom

If your not getting 60 grams of protein or more go back to the shakes because the shakes help get the protein and the water in at the same time. Make sure that your not drinking a lot of sugary drinks. No fruit juice. No carbonated drinks. Water or flavored water only. When you do eat you should be at 1/2 cup or 2-4 ounces of soft food at one time. It's ok if it's less as long as your drinking your protein. I have an app that helps me keep track of my protein and water.

Ok thanks I only drink water or country time which is approved by my dr. And I am still on purée site till Friday

Is that sugar free country time? Your almost to soft food. Yeah!! Popsicles and fudgicles helped me to get in extra protein. Something about the cold that got the last of my protein in for the day. Does your family support your operation? Stress makes a difference in losing weight. Sometimes letting your feelings out helps move in the right direction.

Yes it's sugar free. And my family is very supportive. I agree I need to step up my protein intake.

Did you hear back from the doctor about your output. I'm worried about that. Hopefully it's just your protein levels. Now the hard part waiting. In a week you should be able to see a different either in your cloths or the scale.

Thank you Tracy. I look at this group as being one that we are able to help each other. You have been a tremendous support when I was stumbling along.

Hello all! I'm Ellie.. I've had the Gastric Sleeve surgery 5/10/16. I weighed 280 lbs and am now 215 lbs. I'm depressed, and menopausal. I've hit a Plateau, due to getting off track with my diet. I'm not getting enough protein and water intake. I'm dealing with lose skin as well. I'm feeling stuck. I'm grateful that I came across this site.

Seems like you have a good handle on why you hit that plateau. For me if I get off track the weight stays the same, I have to keep pushing my self to get the proteins and exercise in and it comes off..... Good luck to you. we are here to help

Hi Ellie. I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles. Your weight loss thus far is great. Congratulations!!! As for not getting in enough protein; are you drinking a protein shake each day? The reason I ask this is because I'm struggling with my protein intake and I know it is because I quit drinking them. They are a great and easy source of protein. Water intake: look at ills.com. $25 device that goes on your water bottle or glass, can be switched between both, and reminds you to drink your water. No, I don't work for the company, just looking into one for myself. Or there are free water reminder apps. Hope all of this helps.

I'm having a horrible time getting my protein in because the shakes make me so sick. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks Christine for the support. I did better today I got in 70 gms of Protein! I also drank more water. I made myself walk more. My Fitbit had me at 1.85 miles. I did have to go back to the protein shakes. I like the Premier brand. I'm grateful for a great day of getting back on track. I am going to opt for the water app on my phone also. It may be time for you to get back on the shakes too. I don't want you to struggle with your protein intake each day. Thanks again!
