    how about age and surgery

You look good, you feel good. Why not? You could live another 30 years, or you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I don't think it matters how old you are. Good luck to you. My husband passed away about 3 years ago and I had given away all of his clothing except his coats. Now I know why. They fit...

Hello I'm new to sight looking for friends to share in my weight loss journey 2014

Welcome to the forum. We're small, but enthusiastic! I'm somewhat partial to the sleeve. I just wanted all my nutrition to continue on its regular path without re-routing my intestines. Also a factor for me is that I had to have my sigmoid colon removed last year and wasn't sure how much of the...

    6 Days and a Wake

So glad you get to go home and start your new life. I think this has got to be the longest thread in the history of this site (7 pages!)

    My Newest Release on YouTube

Linda, Thanks for the great video. You asked how I relaxed--- I light my candles at night, or in the day time if I'm home. I make sure that I knit or crochet every day. Knitting saved my life when my husband died (somewhat) unexpectedly in 2010.

    Feeling a little overwhelmed

Yes, I can remember it got very real when I received the letter in the mail approving the surgery. I started having panic attacks in the middle of the night. Every morning I woke up swearing I was going to cancel surgery. I didn't. I'm glad.

    Discouraged

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have had a rough time of it and I understand, but you really need to drop the excuses. Quit drinking cokes and find some exercise that you can do. I am 63, and have a ton of family problems too. It's all in the attitude. So give yourself a break, quit...

You have to remind yourself every day that THIS is the number one thing in your life, even if you can't give it your full attention. You can't let yourself get distracted by everything else that is going on. It helps to pre-plan your meals for the day, and then don't stick another thing in your...

I found that by measuring and weighing all my food and keeping to the amount I'm supposed to eat at whatever stage I'm at reduces problems to a minimum. I do have trouble remembering some time. Last night, for instance, I had 3 oz of Tilapia and 3 oz of peas. I'm supposed to be keeping to 3 oz...

77 days out from Surgery and feeling great

Great way to not answer questions! There are a lot of rude people in the world and they don't need to know everything about you just because they feel like asking.

    New to forum

Welcome to the forum. You might try experimenting with different liquids and different temperatures. Sometimes hot, cold, or room temperature makes a difference. I also find that water gives me heartburn sometimes, so I usually throw some Crystal Light in my bottle. The depression is also a...

Hi and welcome to the forum. Crab meat should be OK, but mayonnaise? Check the fat and caloric content. Yikes! I add plain yogurt to things that need a little lubrication to get down. Or if I make tuna salad, I'll use 1 part light mayo to 3 parts plain yogurt.

    Solid foods

Kdrivera, I started solid foods after 4 weeks, protein and vegetables only. The best thing to do is measure everything and eat slowly then most likely you won't get sick or nauseated and you won't eat too much. I don't have to chew as much as some bypass patients say they do, but it also depends...

    getting started

My six month dietary classes were part of the process with the dieticians at the bariatric center. It was part of my insurance requirement (Cigna) but wasn't covered by the insurance, so I had to pay $30 each time. Go figure. I just had a thought. Have you tried to connect on Facebook or other...
