    Mini Melt Down

NoTurningBack has a great idea. Attending live support group meetings is important as you can talk to people who are at different stages in their journey. You will see first hand what can happen if you stick with the plan. At my last two support group meetings, people who didn't know me said...

    question concerning water

Karenina, my understanding is that for all bariatric patients, no drinking 30 minutes before and after eating. That is what I've gotten from my Dr. but I could be wrong. I know for RNY, because the pouch is so small, drinking 30 minutes or less before eating will cause you to fill up too fast...

    I am ready to begin!!

Tammi, most of the people post here a few times and get their question at the time answered and then move on. Some of us stick around and keep offering our support, counsel and answers as best we can. Don't be discouraged because you don't get lots of responses. What I think are my best posts...

Has anyone tried the tofu pasta??

I have never been a fan of Tofu, but I agree with the wise old man, Dennis. Go for it, the worst thing that could happen is you don't like it. Frank

I am ready for a new birthday

Congrats on the surgery date. It's an exciting time, and it goes by faster than you think. CALQL84HEALTH as for other exercises, you could try swimming, zumba, bike riding, taking the stair rather than an elevator or escalator. I'm taking scuba lessons. Just about anything that gets you out...

Welcoming New life...Surg Date July 15. Anxious

This journey of ours will put most people out of their comfort zone and it's a good thing too. For me the comfort zone was eating, I could always eat and feel better, at least at the moment. I didn't worry about my weight, until I started having problems, but even then I continued to yo-yo...

    Surgery date July 30

Tammi, I asked that question. Each patient is different and what needs to happen in their bodies prior to surgery is different, requiring different diets and length of diet. Also each Dr is different they stick with what they've seen work. The primary thing they are trying to do is make sure...

    Death Row

That is one way of looking at it and most of us probably had our "last meal" before starting the diet. I know I planned a big one and had it to, but I can't remember what I had or why it was so important. You are not on death row, instead you are now on Healthier, Happier, Longer living row...

    Surgery date July 30

Tammi, try Pure Protein bars, they are tasty and have lots of protein. I had to do protein shakes only for three weeks before I had my surgery. I kept focusing on my 5 year old grandson, he was my motivation. Got through it. As for if it's worth it. I'm down 160+ pounds and there are...

    question concerning water

Hi Susan, I carry a waterbottle with me at all times. I sip in the car, while walking, in the elevator, sitting at my desk, watching TV. From the time I get up until I go to bed I carry and sip, except for the time that I'm eating and of course the 30 minutes before and after. You're still...
