Dennis, Wow, you minced no words with sharoni50. I loved it, so many times I want to scream, "YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING WRONG, THEN STOP DOING IT AND DO THE RIGHT THING!" Sometimes people just need a slap in the head to wake them up. I tried to follow your advise with some additional ideas...

    Curious

One question that Dennis didn't ask, how are you clothes fitting? Are they looser? I went through a six week period where I lost maybe a pound or two, but I lost almost 6" from my waist. I had just started serious, four to 5 times a week working out at the gym. I was converting fat to muscle...

The Reality of our Choices - Do it right or Die

Letrell, those were some of the most powerful words I've read on this or any board. I am so happy that you are up and about. I finally got around to taking my vitamins at about month 4, but am now very regular about it. I'm printing out your warning and posting it in my home office, to...

    Mini Melt Down

Hi Dreamz, The WLS journey is full of ups and downs. The ones you face before surgery will get you ready for the ones you'll face after surgery. Don't let a setback cause you to back out on this journey. In the larger scale of your life, an extra week to have this procedure done is merely a...

10weeks post op and feeling HORRIBLE ..

Hi SwtHrt7, So you know the issue and what's causing it. That's an important step, but there is one more I think you should take. I would suggest speaking with a therapist to find out why you are sabotaging yourself. For many of us weight gain is a result of emotional issues and if you...

    Fatigue

Don't worry about how much you are losing at first. First off, both of you said you are getting more exercise, so you're turning fat into muscle, which means you're probably losing inches and not weight. Inches are as good as pounds. How are you clothes fitting? Try measuring yourself once a...

    Another newbie intro...

Tiffany, I had my daughter stay with me the first night, my wife is a nurse and works nights. After the first night, I was fine alone, mostly I was nervous. My wife was around for some of the first few days, so if you have a family member or friend that can stay with you, it might not be a...

    Another newbie intro...

Hi Tiffany, welcome to the board. That's tough question you posted. I found something that motivated me to get the surgery in the first place. My 5 year old grandson, so I keep his picture on my phone and look at it everytime I want to cheat or eat what I'm not supposed to. It helps me, most...

    Approximately Two Weeks Post-Op

Congrats on the surgery. As Dennis said, your journey is just beginning. Take each challenge and find a solution that works for you. As time goes by it will get easier, but you'll need to experiment with things to find both what you like and what you can tolerate. Frank

    Seven Months Post Surgery

Good to see you again M, Congrats on your weight loss so far. You are close to reaching your goal and I'm proud of you. I know it wasn't easy, but you stuck with it. The loose skin can be covered up and eventually dealt with through surgery, if needed. You are an inspiration. Frank
