Still a lot of pain when moving - Normal?

I am almost 11 days out now from my RNY and still have significant stabbing pain. It's in the general area of where they did the most work (near my largest incision). There's no redness near any of the incisions and no fever, etc. I only feel this sharp/stabbing/pulling pain in this area...

Am I doing this OK?? 4 days out of surgery...

Thank you both - I live in NYC and the temperatures have been fluctuating the last few weeks (randomly spikes to 90, then back down to 60!), but in our apartment it is A/C so no issue there. I was thinking of doing a small snack, like 8 oz. of sugar free/fat free yogurt. My dietician on my team...

    Indigestion with my sleeve

Amanda - walking really helps with the gas...I walked around a store this morning, it worked as a good distraction from my pain and helped relieve me a bit. Have you managed to pass gas/have a bowel movement yet? I am 4 days out, no bm yet but the gas is getting a bit better, the soreness is...

Am I doing this OK?? 4 days out of surgery...

Hi everyone, I had my Roux en-y on Tuesday 6/11 in the morning and was discharged yesterday. I tolerated liquids fine in the hospital, managed to eat a few tbsps. of cream of wheat and some broth too. They pretty much scared me about dehydration during discharge though and I'm working really...

Thank you so much for sharing everyone! I have a case of Unjury packets, my vitamins that I ordered came in (Centrum Silver chewables, Caltrate chewables for calcium), I also have some cream of wheat and oatmeal (not instant) for when I come home from the hospital. I'm already a big water...

    A week from today!!

My surgery is a week from today (6/11) and I'm the first case of the morning @ 7:30am. I am SO excited but so very nervous! I'm still a bit confused about what it will be like drinking for the first few days, the nutritionist confused me a little...I know they said take a few sips every 15mins...

Surgery on the 11th, excited by very nervous!

Thank you all! I'm mainly worried about the logistics of *not* being able to pick up my daughter, rather than missing doing so, if you know what I mean? I must have to pick her up at least a hundred times a day (stopping her from running across the street, carrying her here or there, etc), I...

Having a hard time drinking my shakes ?

I am still 3.5 weeks away from my surgery, but I have taste tested several and Unjury in Chocolate was my favorite by far. My nutritionist said the guidelines for the protein shakes are 15+ grams of protein and <6 grams sugar. There are lots of ready to drink shakes on the market, there is a low...

I have my final pre-op test on the 29th (an Upper Endoscopy) then I just have the routine bloodwork, chest x-ray and ekg right before the actual surgery in the hospital itself...It is all so surreal and I'm so excited but very nervous...I had an open...

    Manhattan - Experiences @ NY Presby Weill-Cornell?

Hi, I am having a consult at NY Presby Weill-Cornell with Dr. Pomp. He comes highly recommended and has a great track record. I am paying OOP for my surgery and will not have a wait period due to insurance. I have all the evaluation work scheduled for the same week (Week of the 15th) so I...
