Thank you all! My surgery went well for the most part. I had some breathing issues when I got out but that is all cleared up now. I didn't have access to a computer much while I was out so I wasn't able to post back here on my progress or anything. I have lost about 36lbs since the surgery...
Thank you all so much for the encouragement. Its a more emotional frustration I think than anything else. We will get there and thank goodness for our support people. The road is much less bumpy when its shared!
I've been feeling the same way. My husband has been very encouraging though and he is right. I've been jumping on the scale way too often and need to stick with my once a week look at the scales or I will go crazy. I'm 5.5 weeks post-op myself right now and my doctor says I'm doing great...
Congrats on your surgery! I had mine 5 weeks ago today and when I came home from the hospital I was 10lbs heavier than when I went in. My skin was tight all over because of the fluids and air and I felt like a walking sausage that was ready to burst! It gets better. Some people say that you...
Hi All, I'm 5 weeks post op and just started back to work this morning. I have been following the doctors protein requirements and the vitamins but have also not lost any this week. I have been having problems with being regular though. Did anyone else have this issue? Thanks. Sky
Do you have any cell phone numbers of neighbors of your dads? I keep numbers for my elderly neighbors relatives and vice versa. I'm so sorry to hear how bad it is there. We got off relatively easy here. I'm saying prayers for your dad and all the others who are in such a terrible situation.
I'm scheduled for laproscopic surgery and asked the nurse practitioner (she had the surgery several years ago). She said the same as one of the above answers. Whenever his body is ready for it, but no lifting, lol. That porcupine answer was hilarious!
Thanks for all your encouragement. Right now I feel like a bloated slug. I'm trying to exercise in spite of it but it is very difficult. I'm also trying like mad to stay on the presurgery diet. If it weren't for fruit and veggies, I think I'd be starving! Lol.
Cloning... great idea! I'm selling my mobile home to buy a house on some land so its a bit different than selling an "actual" house. A mobile home is registered with the dmv in Maryland so on the day of settlement all monies will be divied up on the spot. It'll give me a pretty decent down...
Thank you all for your responses. Although it doesn't get rid of my nervousness, it helps knowing that it is a normal reaction. I finally got my surgery date. It's November 5th. I just started my "pre-surgery diet" and am already grumpy, lol. I'm trying to get on an exercise routine so that...
Hi All,
I've never joined a forum before but I'm starting to get a bit nervous about this surgery. I had the lapband for five years before my new doctor discovered that it was located in the wrong place. Now I'm going through the procedure again to have the bypass and I'm a month to a month...
