12 days and a wake up.. Reality hit home today.

You know your on launch sequence when you start your pre-surgical liquid diet and then the following day your patient advocate calls, your nurse case manager calls and patient financial services calls for payment all within an hour of each other, LOL.

Today I get a call from my patient advocate to see how I am doing. My nurse case manager calls to make sure of all my medications, test results and to answer any new questions I may have AND of course the hospital calls for their non-physician service related fees.

I am about 2 weeks behind you and my phone is staying pretty busy too. I start my two week liquid diet the Monday before Thanksgiving and am actually glad - no cheating. I have to start with all the lab work and my first pre-op appt is this coming Monday. I think it will be a whirl wind. Oh, and instead of dial soap, I have some sort of wipes I need to get from the OTC pharmacy. They said they'd show me on Monday what it is. I do hate that I am using up my PTO for appointments. I've been really good about saving it up for this.

I hate using my PTO also!!! I live about 50-60 miles from Houston so I do my best to knock out as much as possible while I am there but next week I have my hospital registration and my pre-op appointment on Tuesday and then my son has his 9 month check up on Friday in the morning. I used all of my sick time for appointments like my psych eval and endoscopy and consultation and intial lab work. I am ready to finish this up!!! I will use 3 days off for the surgery but I have to be back to work that Monday. This is a crazy time in the payroll business with our busiest day of the week being closed for Christmas and then Christmas bounuses and what not I am kinda of squeezing this in because I want it done before 2014!

LOL sounds like me. I scheduled all of my appointments on the same day. I had my psych eval., pulmonology appointment and chest x-ray done in one day. Now on the 20th I have my appointment with the dietician, exercise physiologist, pre-operation surgical visit, pulmonologist follow up and business center visit scheduled. My first appointment is at 8:50 am and I should hopefully be finished by 4pm.
My hospital is a 45 minute drive due West from where we live. I may try and convince my husband that we need to visit Disney World before heading back to the house.

I am fortunate that the hospital is only about 5-6 miles away and I've been able to do some of the appointments at the offices only 2 blocks from my work. I was even able to run over for my "goal" weigh in on my break.
