16 Days post op

Hello
New here, has anyone not lost weight from the Roux-en-y. (16 days out).I feel like a failure. I am on the puree stage following the doctors suggestions I am getting my protein in, 32oz of water, I am working on 62oz. my carb is under 22, and exercising every day. what is wrong with me.
I know stalls are normal but right after surgery.

Kirsten, have you seen your surgeon for followup? Do you have a nutritionist or dietician? You could have diverticulitis, but you'd be in considerable pain by now. Are your bowels moving? If not, you should ask for a laxative that's appropriate to your state of health. You shouldn't be counting carbs or calories. You should have a set diet and you should be weighing and measuring everything you eat. You shouldn't have a stall this early, but you didn't mention how many pounds you've lost so far, so how do you know it's a stall? Please offer more information for support, but more importantly, contact your medical team. Don't put anything in your mouth, not even a crumb or a drop, unless it's been weighed or measured, and ABSOLUTELY write down every single bite or nibble. And your water intake should be twice what you're drinking (Eight 8oz glasses).

Hello Dianeseattle, I lost 30 before surgery, I am measuring/weighing everything following my doctor and nutritionist diet for surgery. I called my nutritionist when I was 12 days out and he said I am probably losing inch not weight, yes my clothes are a little looser but not alot. I am having BMs every day and feel good but tired. And yes I write everything down and my nutritionist saw it and said I am on track try and drink more water.

Well, I can't offer medical advice but since you lost so much weight before surgery, perhaps you ARE on a plateau. I'd see how I felt in a few days and if I came to the conclusion something was wrong, I'd schedule a visit with my surgeon &/or dietician and I would definitely drink twice that much water. You're doing everything else right. Possibly other people here will weigh in who've had similar experiences. Sorry I couldn't help.
