3 weeks post op help

Hello,

I’m new here and joined because I don’t have a lot of people who are going through this with me. I have friends who have done this but they are so far out they don’t remember the beginning stages. My doctor has me moving up to stage 3 diet which is puréed food, including ricotta, cottage cheese, puréed fruits and veggies, etc. I tried whipped cottage cheese and the pain I experienced was awful. It felt like my stomach was spasming and the pain kept coming in waves. It lasted about 20 mins and luckily passed but I felt like I was going to throw up after for a little while. Has anyone ever had this moving up from liquids to puréed foods? I’m not sure what happened but I’m guessing maybe too big of a bite?

I hope you phoned your doctor or nutritionist when this happened. Each person has a different post-op experience and unique effects on their bodies. I can tell you this didn't happen to me but that's irrelevant. It happened to you. We really can't compare experiences when it comes to medical reactions or advice. If you're in pain and nauseated, you need to talk to your doctor. Best of luck.

My guess is the whipped cottage cheese may have had too much air whipped into it. I am 4 months post-op and whenever something didn't sit well, I shelved it for another two-ish weeks, then tried again. When I got the all-clear to eat solids, I was so excited, but I could barely get any solids down and I was very uncomfortable. So even though my healing was in the right place, my body just wasn't ready and I tried again a couple of weeks later. To this day, I am still much more comfortable eating high-protein soups because the meat is tender and saturated. I hope that helps!
