Hi, my name is Jaime and I am new to this site. I have my lap band surgery coming up in 30 days. Took pre-op class on Monday with my fiancé scott and learned about everything. As soon as they told me that I will have surgery soon and it will be in the next couple of weeks, I cried. I am excited about starting a new and healthier chapter in my life but I am scared too. This is the first time I am having surgery and I have also never been skinny. Any advice for this newby? Thank you

Hi Jaime, Welcome. It can be an emotional rollercoaster for all of us at your stage so you are not alone. When I finishe dmy last appointment with the surgeons and set my surgery date it all hit me like a ton of bricks this wa sreally going to happen and my firts thought was "OMG what am I doing to myself!" then I calmed down and thought about why I was doing this and everything else I tried failed. Yes I was still scared, nervous, excited, and all that but it is normal to be all that, we are having surgery. So hang in there and remember why you are doing this. Tom

Thank you for your support. Finally got surgery date, it is october 25th. This is just the beginning of my journey
